FREEing's yukata-attired Rin Tohsaka (Fate/Stay Night) is now available for pre-order. In addition, we also have a look at the unpainted Sakura Matou prototype which seems to have deviated from the initial artwork.

Those who remember the previous group shot should immediately notice the difference between the Sakura concept and the current prototype. For those who haven't, Sakura's hand is now designed to rest on Rin's shoulder where the artwork instead depicted her holding a fan. While I'm not sure what may have prompted this change, I'm hoping that she'll come with an alternate arm because the current incarnation won't function as a stand-alone figure (given that she would have her arm out at an odd angle) not to mention that the fan itself really added a touch of personality. Otherwise the figure seems well-sculpted enough.

Rin looks great with the coat of paint although, to some extent, it makes the yukata's material seem a lot thicker in places. The material doesn't seem to have the realism as seen with Illya and Saber. That's not to say her outfit doesn't look great or the sculpting may be lackluster, because both aspects still look good. As previously thought, Rin will cost a little more because she comes with that bench (and mosquito repellant pig thingy). Rin's list price is a little over JPY8,000 and she's slated for a February release. Anybody thinking of picking her or the entire set up?
