MOBILE VERSION    |    FEEDBACK    |    OLD SITE

With the vinyl toy art world reaching its cute, creepy, eccentric (and otherwise) tentacles farther into the mainstream world, we are beginning to see the derivative of the art form in even newer mediums and used for even broader purposes. A Nokia N-Gage game created by UK mobile developer, Gameware, Yamake – a  LittleBigPlanet-like mini-game creator- will allow users to create games using photos and videos on their phone. The elusive and adorable creatures starring in the gameremain much-a-mystery aside from this reality-based video creation, but have inspired the Yamake Art Project that will most definitely put Yamake on the minds of us toy collectors. This reality-enhanced video was created by Helsinki motion-graphics studio, Fake, and is only a taste of the creativity driven by this project.

The artistic promotional campaign has generated many a custom vinyl of the game’s soft-form mascot by artists all over the world. The project is based on the game’s central philosophy: Play, Make and Share.  Limited edition plain quite vinyl figures have been produced for the customization project and final work will be exhibited at Apart gallery in London from November 20th to November 23rd. An auction to buy the pieces will take place at the gallery as well as online. Now this is a “promotional campaign” I can enjoy . . . even though I don’t own an N-Gage . . . for now.

"can enjoy . . . even though I don’t own an N-Gage . . . for now." an u should keep it that way there are no games even this that would be worth the shithole you'll be getting your self into if u purchase an ngage. teh video however was adorable *emasculated*
yeah, I have an iphone and I the games on there do me just fine - though a game like this on the iphone would totally rock.
I....I didn't know anyone still had an N-Gage. also, did anyone else find this video mildly creepy?
Well this is a UK developer. Perhaps they are more popular over there???
