Who is Guy-Olivier Deveau?Today, I discovered the awesome work of Guy-Olivier Deveau, who does sculptures in sand, ice and wood. Neatorama featured him this morning with a sand sculpture featuring 8-bit video game heroes and I couldn't resist checking out his website (along with his DeviantART gallery) to see what else there is to enjoy. Oh boy, there is a lot to look at there. In the gallery below, I have included only a few images, such as "Ice Disney Castle" and sand Cheshire Cat. A lot of the art work that you see on his DA page could also be purchased as a print (an image of the sculpture). He seems to be a fan of old Nintendo as well as table top games, going by these pictures! Guy-Olivier Deveau lives in Québec, Canada and shows his work throughout North America and Europe. He has received many awards for his work, and rightly so. It's gorgeously detailed! Be sure to check out more than what I've pinned in the gallery by clicking on the above links (his website proper will have more on display than the DA page). It isn't toy-related, but I like to show off fantastic sculpting when I see it. Do you know of any other great or famous sand, wood or ice sculptors? I know of one that is famous down in South Florida, but what about you? Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)...WOW. That is just...I don't even know. I'd personally be really sad if a sculpture I spent so much time on could be so easily destroyed cause it's made out of sand...don't think I could take it.
