Who is Felt Mistress?Felt Mistress aka Louise Evans is the creator of a wide range of one of a kind, handmade, and entirely cuddly monsters that hail from the UK. Primarily she collaborates with partner/illustrator Jonathan Edwards, but she has also done work with Jon Burgerman, Jon Knox, and Pete Fowler. Evan's background is in fashion design and you can definitely tell; she has some of the most chic lady monsters around! Most recently Felt Mistress revealed her felt totem for Pictoplasma Berlin's "Character Totem" exhibit and I am super impressed! The pieces is about 4' tall assembled and is made out of four individual parts, all of which are handmade from felt. I really like the fiery color scheme and the way the felt is layered to mimic the "carved" feeling of a totem. I've never seen a plush/felt totem before and I definitely hope that this won't be the last! No Felt Mistress originals appear to be available at the moment, but you can pick up postcard prints and other trinkets in her shop. You can also browse through her extensive portfolio on her website, the favorites I posted in the gallery are just the tip of the iceberg! Did you know?
