What Toys Are Up To: Playing Super Nintendo

4:00 PM on 08.10.2011

This week on What Toys Are Up To, the Tachikomas have been set loose inside Hobby Search's offices! Thankfully, someone was on hand to capture what they were up to, which included eating lunch, playing some Super Nintendo, taking photos and meeting some of their fellow toys. Beyond that, they've also got Azusa taking a swim with penguins in a little jar, much to the horror of her Nendoroid self ...

Outside of Hobby Search's fun times, Kodomut took Miku along to McDonald's to sample the new Pepper Chicken McGrill, Oliver Totzke's adventures with Danbo continue, nostalgictoys adds a homely feel to the Mugi Nendoroid (along with a little tutu?) and Dango-chan has Itsuki Koizumi doing ... weird things. Is the next Revoltech Woody?

Poor Azusa. Too cute to not pick on.
Totally want one of those mini-SNES props.

I've got one. U jelly? But seriously, they sell those out of capsule machines in Japan, and there are a bunch of different variants, both of the SNES (Super Famicom) and NES (Famicom) lines. Notice this one is using a Super Game Boy cartridge as well.

Yes, I totally am jelly.
I'm generally envious of Japan's capsule culture. They have so many neat prize items, vending items, and even toys on coke bottles.
