Vinyl Thoughts 3 opens Sept. 13The Vinyl Thoughts shows in Dallas have been some well-attended and liked events over the past year. So it's no surprise that Vinyl Thoughts 3, planned by Shelby Miller and Cody Phillips, is going to be taking place on Thursday, Sept. 13, at Life in Deep Ellum (2803 Taylor St., Dallas, Texas), a slightly larger space than their past two shows. For the third show, the theme is "drawn together;" artists were asked to draw inspiration from anything illustrated, including comic books, graphic novels, cartoons, animated films, patent drawings, cave drawings, and more. They've also asked the artists to pick different decades for their pieces, so that they'll venture into new areas and to avoid getting a bunch of stuff inspired by the last 10-20 years. 12-inch-by-12-inch canvas paintings will join the customs this time around, with the paintings featuring an image of a vinyl toy somewhere on them. Likewise, the lineup has expanded to include more than 50 artists from the Dallas area as well as from around the U.S. and world. The first announced artist is JFury, but more artists will be announced on the show's website. We'll have more info as it becomes available, so stay tuned! Did you know?
