The Selvaria Bles has a very strong body sculpt, but the head, face, and hair just feel weak.
I like the Selvaria a lot, but its just not amazing enough for me to justify having a 2nd one of her. Will stick with the enterbrain!
Anyway It's incredible. Just as much detail as the pictures. She really is incredible. The pose is just awesome.
As for the Selvaria. I stand by saying that this one doesn't compare to the Enterbrain one that was released not to long ago. The whole expression on her doesn't fit the character(more so when weapons are in her hands) and the pose is weak compared to the Enterbrain one. Lets also not forget the insane base the enterbrain one came with.
I don't have a very large figure collection, and I'm not really down for duplicates of characters I already own, I'm going to have to go all in on this Selvaria as well (I already own the ebCraft one).
Sadly, as much as I love Odin Sphere, these Mercedes figures are just too loli for me (she wasn't quite so much so in the game). My Alter Gwendolyn and Yamato Velvet are fantastic though.
I have no idea what you mean about Mercedes figures being overly Loli. None of them I have seen play up that aspect at all and they look exactly like she does in the game. If you didn't have think she was in the game then she shouldn't be for the figures unless you are trying to come up with reasons not to buy them so as to save money.
Personally I think this Mercedes is easily the best one of all those released. Simply because of the incredible detail. They even went as far as to recreate the feel of the material on her arms instead of just painting it like stripes like the others have. The base as well has just as much detail as she does. Personally I think if one is a fan of Odin Sphere she is the character to own. She is in my opinion the best of the Odin Sphere figures released.
Now if only we could get a Oswald that was this good.
I never said that I thought this or the Yamato version are *bad* figures. I agree that the detailing of this one is particularly well done. I just wish the appearance came off a little more mature to me - I feel like I'm looking at a figure of a half-naked 8 year old. I don't get that impression from Yamato's Velvet for obvious reasons, but I don't get that impression from Alter's Gwendolyn either. Nor do I get that impression of Alter's Momohime from Muramasa who's artstyle is very similar to Odin Sphere (same developer). It's a shame too b/c I'm such a collector I can rarely stand to have only part of a series of anything. However, my OS figure collection is highly likely to remain Mercedes free.
I'd also kill for an Oswald figure - alas male characters never get the same merchandise treatment as the females do. Speaking of things I kill for, how about an Alicia (or Welkin, Rosie, Largo, or Varot) of the quality of either of these Selvaria figures?
I'd like some more Valkyria characters- I looked for the Alicia prize figure far and wide while in Japan last week but didn't see hide nor hair of it. I DID see Valkyria Chronicles 2 prize figures though... Go figure.
