Unsurprisingly, Hasbro reveals Titans Return Soundwave

At least it's a heavy remold

When Hasbro officially revealed Blaster at the tail of 2015 for the upcoming Transformers: Titans Return line everyone just knew Hasbro would find a way to turn him into Soundwave later. Later is coming sooner than expected with an extensive Soundwave remold being previewed long before the series launches, believed to be mid to late summer (vague as always, Hasbro).

It's nice to see Blaster as the original mold for a change and Soundwave as the remold, but how about we get a new mold for both of them sometime? Soundwave is now a boombox rather than a microcassette tape player, but now features the look of covered speakers rather than the exposed speakers of Blaster. Unfortunately this gives him some very square lower legs in bot mode, lacking all of Blaster's depth and detail. They've also made some body changes, redesigned his chest and added the new head. Speaking of the head they haven't named his little Titan Master partner yet, but it's possible they'll call him Soundblaster to go with Blaster's partner Twin Cast. You see, in the Japanese Headmasters cartoon Soundwave and Blaster are upgraded to Soundblaster and Twincast (no space) respectively so Hasbro has already gotten the homage ball rolling. Not crazy about the big yellow visor, it looks kinda goofy.

We're about a month away from Toy Fair and it looks like Hasbro is getting the ball rolling early. Hopefully this means they'll have a lot for us to see if they can do reveals this early. The image in the header is of an actual figure, but in the gallery you can see CG renders to give you an idea of what the entire figure looks like in all modes. I'm a little apprehensive about diving into this line, but I think there'll be some good figures in it.
