Evil rarely looks so good as with the case of Grand Jester Studios's 9.5-inch tall Evil Queen bust. The queen is powerfully posed with her scepter held high above her head and features a neat crown and peacock adorned base.

Disney fans will remember the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs where the exceedingly vain ruler sought to do away with Snow White because a mirror said the girl was the most beautiful in the land (I imagine that mirrors are probably a good judge of beauty despite never being asked to judge pageants). This rather stellar bust commemorating the Evil Queen was sculpted by Jacqueline Perrault Gonzales (with the concept art drawn by Patrick Romandy-Simmons). Gonzales masterfully captured a lot of emotion and expression with this sculpture, giving the work the larger than life feel that the Disney villain so richly deserves. The detail seems magnificent.

The peacocks adorning the base are no doubt a nod to the queen's throne and a less than subtle reminder of the character's vanity. The crowns add a bit of color to the base as well as provide a small amount of whimsy since the peacocks seem to be popping out of them in much the same way a rabbit might appear from a top hat. I'm a little confused as to what looks like kindling around the very bottom of her base but I imagine it's an element somehow tied to the throne. To top things off, the base is surrounded by a ring of what seem to be peacock feathers.

The Evil Queen bust is available now for around US$85. Any Tomopoppers think that it may be the fairest deal of them all?
