Gundam SEED Vs. Astray reminds me a lot of my high school days. I remember distinctively this really ugly group of people. They would all hang together and were friends with possibly the ugliest girl in school. When they all gathered together, they all seemed to look better in comparison due to the visual existence of this one, really ugly girl. Gundam SEED Vs. Astray has found its ugly girl.
Coming in at the end of the month is the 1/100 Astray Mirage Frame Second Revise. It is easily the ugliest Gundam model of all-time. Yes, this even beats out the previous ugliest Gundam ever, the Nix Providence. Its color combination isn't the only thing at fault here. Purple and pink can look glorious, just look at Puru's Qubeley for example. But a horn antenna combined with the fact that this thing transform to into an even more inconceivable mode just makes this thing hideous. It transforms into an odd dog/dragon/wtf 4-legged creature and I have no idea how it even works as arms and legs shouldn't bend that way. Oh and out of its mouth come two beam sabers. This is the ugliest piece of crap I've ever seen.
You can look forward to seeing this on shelves on the 29th of January, going for the price of 2625 yen. I've started to see more of the Vs. Astray series kits coming into the US in hobby shops, so don't be surprised if you see this monstrosity for yourself soon.

It's funny how being around a lot of something can make me want that thing. I never figured myself to be big on Gunpla, as I was never into Gundam. But seeing all the various model kits on display at Bluefin's booth was enoug...
At Anime Central, Bandai had figures on display from their own line in the Bluefin booth, as well as D-Arts and SH Figuarts. There was nothing particularly shocking or brand new from them here. Most of their collection ...
There's a fine line between milking the cow and killing the golden goose. Bandai's Premium Web Shop walks the line like a guy with a blood alcohol level of 0.08. While a few of their efforts aren't too offensive, when you sta...
There is more to plamo than just robots. In the past couple of years, Pokemon has gotten in on the plamo action. With several evolution sets already in production, there's a long way still to go before 649. They're inching ev...
This year's Shizuoka has been my Itchy and Scratchy Land. Ready to go head over heels at all of the sights, only to be disappointed by the sameness of it all. That's not to say that there aren't gems and things to be excited ...
It was just announced yesterday and I wasn't thrilled by the news. It's just what feels like Master Grade Gundam #47. There's a reason why it was made though and Bandai had to prove that today. With what looks like a 1/100 sc...
Last week, Tamashii Nations teased Saint Seiya fans with an announcement that they had a big news. Setting up a special page with just a banner and a video, all that was said was that the Saint Cloth Myth 10th Anniversary Project had an announcement. Their news would be revealed on May 15 on Ustream at 1:30 Japan Standard Time. So what was their big news? Click the cut to find out!
This week is the Shizuoka Hobby Show. Bandai likes to bring out all of the stops and make huge announcements with its plamo lines. The big reveal has come early in the form of the next generation of Master Grade kits. The fir...
If there is any dish I love, it's curry. If there's any object I love, it's Gundam models. When the two get together, you would think I'd devour this down. When faced with an unappetizing dish, slap a Gundam on it and watch i...
