Our intrepid man in the field Keith Polott was all over Kotobukiya's area at Toy Fair 2012, and brought back a lot of photos and information. First the breaking news: Kotobukiya has a lot of bishoujo in the works. No one saw that one coming, right?
What you might not have seen before is the limited edition Black Widow, which has a slightly different paint job for a more leathery looking outfit. Kotobukiya also displayed concept art for Mass Effect's female Shepard and their Star Wars X Bishoujo Jaina Solo. They've also mentioned they'll be doing two more Mass Effect characters in the future.
We also got some info about their ArtFX line, which will eventually include a male Shepard to go along with his bishoujo counterpart. DC Comics will be well-represented with several upcoming Batman figures for both the regular ArtFX line and the smaller scale ArtFX+. Eventually Kotobukiya plans to start on Justice League characters from DC's New 52 relaunch, starting with Superman and others coming along about once a month.
Rounding out the Kotobukiya stuff is a bunch of Star Wars figures, the not-released-outside-of-Japan-yet Star Wars business wear line, and lots of ice trays. I thought the Han Solo ice tray was brilliant, but the rest of these are kind of missing the point. Han Solo in carbonite makes sense as an ice cube. An alien egg? Not sure...
