Bluefin and Tamashii Nations (Bandai) were at Toy Fair 2012, and our Keith Polott spoke to Bandai/Tamashii Nations' Adam Newman at the booth. While what was on display might have been a lot of what we've seen before, there's a ton of info for U.S. collectors that they might not know about. First and foremost, while the Robot Spirits line is not seeing as many releases lately compared to others, it's in no danger of being cancelled in the near future.
Additionally, there's some good news on the release front, as Bandai's been able to streamline their safety testing procedure, which should lead to more releases with fewer delays. Adam mentioned that the success of Figuarts in general and inside the U.S. in particular has been very surprising to Bandai, with the U.S. market alone as the driving force behind the Mega Man and Dragon Ball Figuarts lines. And that means one thing: there's a guarantee from Adam of a Dragonball Z Figuarts exclusive for San Diego Comic Con!
In closing, Adam said that Bandai pays very close attention to the Bluefin Facebook page, so if you're not already keeping a close eye on it and responding to wall posts, do it! Check out the gallery for lots of shots of what was in the Bluefin/Tamashii Nations booth, and thanks to Adam for giving us all that awesome info!
