Toy Fair 2011: Kotobukiya announces Ghostbusters x Bishoujo

Lately, a lot of you have been voicing concerns that Shunya Yamashita's Bishoujo line has looked more like cosplayers as comic vixens than the characters themselves. Well, I'm here to tell you these concerns are 100% legitimate as with the announcement of the newest Bishoujo line, Ghostbusters. Yes, Ghostbusters.

I really don't know what to say here. I love Ghosbusters. I love Yamashita's art. For some reason, I just can't bring myself to love this. I definitely see the appeal that many are going to have to this piece. Maybe I'm just channeling Bill Murray's cynicism, but I'm just not feeling it. It's scheduled to be released this August for the price of US$59.99. Given the track record of Kotobukiya, I have no doubt that there will be a slimed variant down the line.
