Tomopop Unboxes: Orchid Seed's 1/7 Akeno Shiranui

10:00 AM on 01.04.2011

That's a rather silly look on my face there.

Thanks to Hobby Link Japan, we bring to you yet another unboxing this week, this time with an actual box! The lucky lass escaping her cardboard-and-plastic prison is Orchid Seed's Akeno Shirnui from the mermaid yakuza show Seto no Hanayome, or My Bride is a Mermaid on this side of the pond.

I'm not fond of the show proper, but  I can look past bland humor as long as what I'm looking at is cute and has a set of fins. That will make more sense when you see the video after the jump.

You can pick Akeno up at Hobby Link Japan for ¥6,343.

Constructive criticism: It would have been more helpful if you could have shown the figure assembled with the school girl configuration, then removed the removable clothes, then done the mermaid configuration.
Oh yeah, that was that video I started watching then got distracted by a movie, some other reviews, and then I played 3D Dot Heroes afterward. It was a fun day. I still want to watch that unboxing at some point. Potentially later.
@ Counterpunch

I decided not to do it b/c it took quite a bit of time to do it w/o possibly damaging the figure, so I didn't want to make it too long. I'll definitely keep that in mind for my next unboxing though!
The kanji means brightness, and is used in her name along with things to do with morning.

I actually got this as it was on sale at Amiami; was very pleased, although I can't comment on changing her to her mermaid form, as I never did; don't like cast-offs, due to not being a fan of nudity (Or even a lot of skin) in my figs, and the chance of damaging them.
Really like the brush and notepad.

The show isn't actually bad, as it tends to play it straight comedy for most of it. The male characters are the reason to watch; I swear, some of those episodes made me laugh so hard.
More along the lines of BakaTest than LoveHina, if you get my drift.
