Tomopop Unboxes: Hot Toys' Tony Stark Mech Test Version

6:00 PM on 06.29.2010

If you were a reader on the site late last year, you might remember how completely excited I was about getting my own 1/6 scale version of Robert Downey, Jr. I think I managed to sneak in references into a bunch  of completely unrelated posts.

At any rate, the video is just of me talking, so you don't need my commentary here. However I do apologize for the sound. It was a learning experience. I'll get better. Anyway, enjoy. This figures rocks! Review will be up this weekend. Hit the jump for the vid.

[UPDATE: fixed audio. A billion times better now.]

Nice first video! I could tell you were so excited about opening it. I couldn't believe how big the box and figure were. At that price, you should be getting a lot though! It looked like a good figure though, and if Hot Toys ever did a character I really loved, I'd probably really want one!

Anyway, nice job! It was a little hard to hear sometimes, but I've never made a video, so I'm sure it's tough to perfect.
I've just painstakingly adjusted the levels on the audio throughout, because I was really unhappy with how it came out. I'll update this in a short while.
Nice video!

Hot Toys is pure sex,

Hot Toys is hot and big box is big.
Lovin the mecha arm. Would buy it just for that. :D
Oo From your profile photo, I would've guessed you were in your early 20s.

It is weird that they do an inner image, since these things are typically sold online. Argh! I hate Crane-Crane Binks! He was incredibly annoying. It also kinda sucks, but throughout the entire unboxing vid we never actually got a good look at Tony or anything. He was too far back to really get a clear look at the detail. Yeah, yeah, I know you'll also be doing a formal review with photos and all but it'd still be cool to get a closer look at the figure while you talk about it, especially because photos can only convey so much about something.
Per usual Hot Toys does amazing work.
Nah, I'm an old-ish man (well, 32 as of tomorrow) that refuses to let his punk roots die (for better or worse). Thanks for the input. I realized such as well when looking at the footage. Though today's Gamera video will be even worse, trust me that my future vids will be a significant improvement.
Awesomesauce! I really considered buying this (and still am considering), but it's a lot of dough. I don't own any Hot Toys stuff yet, but I'm sure I eventually will, given their reputation for quality. And yeah, I'm nearing 30 myself, so it's refreshing to see some "older" faces on here. Oh, and MSU FTW!
Happy Birthday man! Although I hate you for having that fig and I dont!
:3 you are awesome dorama niisan! :D

this review is amazing since I've never seen a boxed hot toys before! I can feel the squee in you when you saw the wires on the back ahaha.
