One of my favorite figure companies is Uplark. They were the same folks that made the excellent Yoko (reviewed) and Kamina (reviewed) PVC figures a couple of years back, though back then they were known as Eye-Up. As a freshman effort, they released Nia (reviewed) and Viral (reviewed), proving that despite the name change, they still had it in them to make some great figures. Then, they up and disappeared. Sure they popped up every so often and released a figure, but it was infrequent enough for me to consider them dead and gone.
Since it's damn near a requirement for every figure company to have some sort of Evangelion figure at one point or another, one of the last figures Uplark put out was Rei Ayanami sitting in her entry plug from the Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone. I'm sad to say that I ignored this release and regretted it when Uplark didn't put anything else out. Thanks to the fine folks at HobbyLink Japan, I'll be able to show you why this is such a fine figure and why it's worth your money, even two years after its original release.
