Tomopop Review: UFC Collector Series Wave 2 by Round 5 photo

Sports toys and vinyl do not seem to go together whatsoever. In fact, the typical sports toy we get falls into two categories. First, photo-realistic figures like the ones produced by McFarlane Toys that are more sculptural than articulated. Then the other category, which are ones like the UFC figures from Jakks Pacific, which are more playable but may not appeal to markets outside of hardcore collectors or children. Where Tomopop is concerned, what about the vinyl collector? Why can't they enjoy sports and add something to their stylized collection?

Round 5 MMA has come to the rescue and produced figures that fall right into that gray area. Today, we take a look at the second wave of the UFC Collector series from Round 5 MMA collectibles. This line includes BJ Penn, Randy Couture, Forrest Griffin, Michael Bisping, Tito Ortiz and Kimbo Slice. Are these vinyl figures worth your hard-earned cash? Watch the vid and decide!

Meh, was debating on picking a Chuck Lidell from this figure line (I think it was this line) but.... I don't know. I guess it might be a fusion of two things I'm sorta interested in where the parts I don't like are more evident. The one thing that did impress me was the facial likenesses, especially with the Couture and then the amount of detail on Kimbo Slice's head. I'm probably not as fond of how the the bodies look.

I absolutely hate the Jakks UFC line. The bodies are just so unappealing.
I like the style. Kinda like the HAO limited figures of Japanese fighter..
And the head details are good here. I saw someone actually use the head for a custom 1/6 figure of theirs. :P
