The Nightmare Before Christmas is a movie that will always be dear to me, as I remember seeing it the day it originally came out and used to have the original toys. Well, Halloween is fast approaching and with the upcoming holiday season, which happens to be my favorite, there are new toys to be had. Jun Planning has released a set of mini figures based on The Nightmare Before Christmas, and as soon as I saw them, I knew they must be mine.
These may be small figures, but they're insanely detailed. Hit the jump to check them out up close and personal!

First off, the boxes are insanely cute and small. I, for one, also enjoy that this series isn't blind-boxed, as it tells you point blank what's in the box before you buy it. There are six different figures including Jack Skellington, Sally, Lock and Barrel, Shock and Zero, Dr. Finklestein and Oogie Boogie.

I also like that the boxes show you pictures of all six figures, so if your budget is extra tight you can get a sneak peek at which figure you'd like the most out of the group. This is always nice for those of us trying to pinch a few pennies.

All of the figures look amazing, especially since the most of them are not taller than 3 inches or so. One of my favorites, of course, is Jack Skellington. I love him dearly anyway, but his figure just makes me so happy. He's the tallest of all the figures, and as such comes in pieces, like the rest of the figures do.

Sally looks great as well, and I love that all of her outfit details are there, as well as her stitches that show where she's been sewn back together time and time again.

Her base comes with the cat that randomly lurks around Halloween Town, which I thought was a great touch, as well as a great way to include the cat without it just being odd.

Lock and Barrel are two of Oogie's boys, and they're always up to mischief. I love that this little bit got transformed into a toy, and it shows them doing what they do best: causing trouble.

Shock is Oogie's other minion, and she comes well equipped with weaponry in her figure. Looking like she could put on a heck of a torture symposium, she still has quite the grin on her face.
Shock also comes with the Zero figure which you can attach to Jack's stand. That way you can have him look like he's following Jack anywhere he goes!

I really like Dr. Finklestein's figure, as he does what his original full size figure did for the most part. You can open up the top of his head to reveal his removable brain, which you can make him scratch as well. His wheelchair is also beautifully sculpted, and the figure fits in it perfectly.

The last figure in the batch is Oogie Boogie, who is far heavier than any of the other figures. His body actually splits in two so that you can see all the bugs that live inside him. I absolutely love the pose his figure has, and up with Jack I think he's right there as my second favorite figure in this series.

I happened to get lucky with scoring these and found them at my local Borders book store, as it happens to have a Nightmare Before Christmas display this year. If yours is just as awesome, then you'll be looking to pay around $4.95 a figure, if not you can always search the land of the internet. Last I checked even Kid Robot was selling these bad boys. If you're at all a fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas then I'd suggest you don't miss out on these, as they'll definitely remind you that "This Is Halloween".
