Tomopop Review: Patch Together's Floxy photo

It's time for Floxy! This is a series I've been waiting to see for quite awhile, especially since community member somakun was the creator of the original design and form of Floxy! It's an amazing platform to see how different artists portray their designs on it, making each piece a bright and colorful addition to your toy collection.

Hit the jump to check out Patch Together's first foray into the blind-boxed vinyl world!

Floxy

Welcome to the box section of the review, and we have a great surprise with this one! Being as it's a blind box series, they have a great display box that the blind boxes themselves sit in. I just love how Floxy's eyes poke out over the top of the boxes.

Floxy

With blind boxes my favorite things to see on the box itself are the artists, as well as small images of what you can look forward to finding inside the box once you open it. Both of those things are illustrated just the way I like it on the box, so big points to them, as well as anyone else who does so.

Floxy

Here we have the original Floxy, designed by the fantastic artist, and Tomopop community member, soma-kun. You should definitely go check out his website that houses all of his amazing work. The bags that come in the blind boxes are just adorable. They're adorned with the Patch Together logo while having small little Floxy heads floating about.

Floxy

Here are all of the members of the set, with the original Floxy standing proud in front. Each of these little guys measure around 2.75" tall. Wave 1 is something I'm so excited about as a whole, and it makes me giddy to think who might be involved with the next set, and what they might look like. Let's take a closer look at the members of Wave 1, shall we?

Floxy

Starting from the left we've got Miss Monster's custom, CiungaCiunga by Stick-A-Thing, Johnny Wang's custom, Dust's custom and Saprophilous' owl Floxy. All of the pieces are so nicely detailed, so it's hard to pick favorites. From this half of the crew I think I'd have to go with Saprophilous' Owl Floxy though, as there's just so many things to look at with the small details, but it still pulls together fantastically as a whole.

Floxy

In this half of the group we've got Okkle's custom, VISEone's X-Ray Floxy, Bunka's custom, Soma's original Floxy and Flim's Zombie Floxy. Again there are so many pieces I love in this set, but I think I'll have to dub Okkle and VISEone's my favorites here. There's also a chance to get the chaser version of VISEone's X-Ray Floxy which happens to be bright pink instead of black.

Floxy

As you can see, most of the pieces carry over with details on the back as well. Some of the artists decided to incorporate their names into the pieces, which I actually quite enjoy in these cases as it makes it easier to find out whose piece is whose if you're not as familiar with their style. One of the things I really enjoy most is how brightly the colors show on each figure and that they work well with their individual pieces, as well as when you have them displayed as a whole.

Floxy

At last all of Wave 1 gathers together around their box, and as you've seen from above - I am thoroughly thrilled with how this blind boxed series came out. If you're looking to pick up some of these guys, which I suggest you do, you can head on over to Patch Together's store now. They'll cost you US$9.95 each, but through their website they're currently offering a NYCC exclusive Floxy if you order 10 or more. If you're not looking to pick up that many, you can always check out your local vinyl toy store, as I know my local store got at least one box in. This could be your lucky day!

Meh, problem with that is only Floxy himself really interests me. Not that the Miss Monster one isn't also cute.
Sweet! ^_^
I'm not really interested in blind box figures anymore, which is a shame because I there are 2 or 3 figures in this set I would like to own.

Also, replace "Johnny Wang" with "Johnny Wander."
