Tomopop Review: Patch Together's Crazy Coyote photo

Crazy Coyote is one of those designs that just made me laugh when I first saw it. Not because I thought it was bad by any means, I just loved the expression on his face and immediately hoped it was one that ended up being turned into a figure. Well, my wish came true and now here he is!

It was designed by spacecoyote, a.k.a. Nina Matsumoto, who is probably best known for her The Simpsonzu piece she created, which ended up giving her huge job opportunities. Crazy Coyote now makes its way into your homes in resin form, and receiving it totally made my day. This was one of the figures I looked forward to the most, so hit the jump to see how it fared in our photoshoot!

Crazy Coyote

As you can see we start things off in familiar territory with Patch Together's classic white box and styrofoam combo. It made me laugh quite a bit though, seeing as how large the packing is for such a small figure. Giant packing aside, it was packaged very well and suffered no damage through shipping.

Crazy Coyote

This Crazy Coyote has a very simple design, and quite reminds me of the coyote named Space Coyote that Johnny Cash voiced in The Simpsons. Granted that could very well be intentional, given the artist's name on Patch Together is spacecoyote after all, and she did artwork for Bongo Comics as well. Nina also happens to be responsible for one of my most recently favorited pieces on deviantART.

Crazy Coyote

I have no idea why I love adorable little creatures feet so much, probably because they're small and well, adorable. Anywho, this coyote's stubby little legs fall into that category quite nicely. The only flaw I saw on the entire figure was the small dent on his front left foot, which just looks like something that might have occurred before the resin hardened up fully.

Crazy Coyote

That poor Crazy Coyote, he got confused and started howling when we got outside. Don't you know it's still daylight? You're suppose to wait so you can keep people from going to sleep, little guy! Speaking of being little, this is probably the smallest piece I've ever gotten from Patch Together. He measures around 3.5" long and around 2.75" tall, which makes him perfect to sit on top of anyone's desk.

Crazy Coyote

I'm not so sure this poor coyote has much sense, but then again, he is crazy. He kept going after the strawberries I had outside, but kept making his way for the ones that weren't even ripe yet. I quickly shooed him away from those so he didn't get himself sick. That's the last thing we'd want is a sick coyote who's already crazy.

Crazy Coyote

After he realized the red berries are what he should be going after, he nearly went on a suicide dive to go get the ones that were ready. I pulled him back to safety by his tail so he didn't end up doing a faceplant into the ground. I can't say he was so lucky every time he pulled a stunt like that though ...

Crazy Coyote

If you notice the small paint defect on one of his front feet, that would be what resulted when I didn't catch him before he took a tumble. If he wasn't so nutty, we wouldn't have had this problem, now would we? Well, at least he learned a lesson and went for the tomatoes. At least they're much softer landing.

Crazy Coyote

He pronounced himself the King of Tomatoes, of which he was quickly dethroned because my Mom wanted to eat her proudly grown tomato in her salad. Too bad, Crazy Coyote, there's always next time! I just love his facial expression though. He just looks so excited and happy!

Crazy Coyote

I'm honestly not sure what he was trying to eat here, as they're random berries that started growing in the same pot as my strawberry plants. If we've got any botanists in the house, feel free to give me suggestions on what berry this might be! Hopefully, they weren't poisonous, because Coyote went right to town on them.

Crazy Coyote

Everyone needs to stop and smell the roses, even Crazy Coyotes! As he continued his tour around the yard, he determined this was his favorite spot, as is mine. We hung out around the roses for a while until it just became too unbearably hot in the 100+ degree weather.

Crazy Coyote

If you're a fan of things that are crazy, or perhaps even coyotes, I would definitely suggest heading to Patch Together now and ordering yourself one of these little guys. It'll only cost you US$19.95 and is the perfect addition to any desk, and will make you especially giddy while you work. I'm extremely happy to have him sitting next to me on my desk, as that crazy little face never ceases to make me smile. Get yours now before these coyotes become extinct!

haha that face does amuse me! He looks really great, in any situation it looks to be silly wherever he is!
I really like this. I like the picture where he is climbing in the strawberry leaves for a morsel, with the two flowers behind him (matching his two bright eyes). Nice post.
