Tomocast Episode 10: After the break photo

YES! We've made it to ten episodes! I am so happy to present to you our latest ep, which is filled to the brim with excitement, action, romance and Stella Wong!

We did have some technical issues (damn my new recording program), and things didn't go according to plan. However, we soldiered forward nevertheless. While we start off a bit groggy and fed up over the technical difficulties, things quickly picked up. In the end this is a more thoughtful episode that I'm sure you'll enjoy. If you've ever wanted to get to know my collecting cohorts better then you won't want to miss this!

Also, Stella Wong!

As always, pick us up on iTunes or at this link.

"Fuck it", huh? Awesome, it can be the official slogan XD

Jason Millward is the man. He's an impressive moderator. The discussion didn't really seem to pick up until he expressed his view and the idea went around the table. Bringing in the whole concept of phases of collecting was very insightful.

The whole concept of exclusive collecting really seems to make sense for the really expensive market, because you really have to be into it to put down that kind of money on individual items. Since I'm more on the lower end of the spectrum, I really have the freedom to buy a far wider range of items simply because the monetary investment is significantly lower. I own an insane range of items.

Honestly, I would fucking love to have a character I was completely obsessed over. I'm jealous of people who are crazy enough for one character that they'll go out and buy a ton of merch; and doubly so of people who pick characters with that kind of availability. Usually I end up falling for some like fringe character who has like no offerings. Then again, a LOT of general interests have been pretty bad on the merchandise.

Listened to around 40 minutes so far, I have to ration these podcasts out so they'll last a while.

Oh, plus just talking collections, I think I'm well over 150 figures on the 6"ish scale at this point. No clue how many 4" scale items I own, since it's kinda broken up. Also have a massive number of static smaller items where I can't even get started talking about what it incorporates. I'm also in the rut where I buy more than I actually unbox, just because I like to review stuff as I unbox it.
How Stella started out is similar to how I did :P I was never too interested into action figures and other toys back then though, but I liked looking at the packaging and accessories.

And... her collection sounds scary huge just hearing about it.
ANNnnnnd, forgot what I wanted to say after finishing up the podcast [comment above was midway through] I was too surprised and confused at the end.

What email do I send shipping info to?

I'm going to send you an email right nowish, JoZo.
Ah, now I remember, yep... small boxes of legos was always bought and a tub full of em. Parents would never buy something over the 20 buck mark.

Venturing off of legos is impossible, none of other building toys interested me as much as legos did back then.

But now that we have a new house, we started packing up and cleaning my messy room. Some how dad went all toy story 3 on me and threw away my bucket of legos... all those pieces I sought after was all gone. Its hard to start anew with legos, cause I'm sure the veteran builders all used some old and hard to come by parts before lego store came into play.
So... just finished the questions section, which was nowhere near as fun as the first. Plus I guess you *didn't* cover those missed questions from the last cast.

Serious props to the guy who brought up the Pirates game (which happened to come out right when I was into One Piece >_>), loved that one. Eventually gave up when I had over 200 ships, no idea how to play it, and no way to reasonably display it. Plus.... when it comes right down to it, cardboard displays are kinda chintzy no matter how they're designed plus on any ship with 4 or more masts I was almost guaranteed to snap one.
