Tomocast: Dolls records tonight, give us your questions! photo

Hey everybody, it's almost time for another Tomocast!

This episode I'll be joined by Colette Bennett, Leah Bayer, Jennifer Johnston and Brigitte as we'll discuss dolls of all varieties. Ball-Jointed Dolls, Dollfies, it's all fair game! Besides the usual scintillating conversation that we usually have, we also need your questions. Be sure to leave us a few in comments section and we'll answer them when we record Monday evening!

[UPDATE: Last call for questions, recording tonight!]

Whoa, a Nia doll, neat.

Hate to say it, but I still haven't listened to the last 2 or 3 Tomocasts. They're just so long! >_
@Scarecroodle

Don't worry, we've cut down Tomocast to under 90 minutes.
A doll fairy has appeared before you and has given you the choice to make your dream doll. That's right a custom made doll just for you, so what would your dream doll look like?
I'm tempted to get into the doll thing, but I'm worried about all the maintence. Mainly extended storage and this staining issue that keeps popping up. Any sort of first time doll owners tips? And actually, I do already own a custom someone made, but do you know of a good place to find someone who does custom dolls? It would make getting into the hobby easier to swallow if I had a character I actually liked.
What was the first doll (dollfie, bjd etc) you remember being wowed by and is it still one you'd jump at the chance of owning? Or did your tastes change?

I'm on Den of Angels (forum for resin bjds) and there's a section of its big marketplace devoted to commissionable customisers - people who do face ups, tattoo work and all kinds of modifications (scars, zombie mods, your basic sanding and additive mods). Forums for different dolls would probably have lists of customisers and people doing repaints and mods. I'm more into resin bjds, don't know how it goes with dollfies and stuff. I know there's quite a few Pullips and Blythes that get repainted.

Volks has its Full Choice System (http://www.angelden.net/fcs/) for their resin dolls and there's a couple more doll companies that do a similar thing - Fairyland and Iplehouse for two. Oh and Doll in Mind does custom manufacturing with their Minimee service where people have had doll heads created based on famous people, fictional characters and drawings.
Gah, got another question. Do you like mixing and managing how you want the doll (real, hypothetical, whatevs) looking or do you prefer buying one based on a pre-existing character (like a lot of Volks' dollfies)/one that comes as a complete fullset?

Tempted to tally up how many times 'creepy' gets said in the 'cast.
Hm, okay, since I'm considering my first doll purchase, I'll bite...

What are some of the best places to find clothes/wigs/other customizing-type-stuff for your dolls? Any brand, really.
I listened to Tomocast earlier today meanwhile doing the dishes, and I loved it! It was really fun listening to fellow collectors talk about something they love.

Also, I'm not really into dolls, but that Nia doll is quite tempting.
