Decided to go with some more open and quick questions so you could answer to your own degree. As for qu.11, thought you might go with the obvious, personally I'd gone with the 'Tree of Life' ;)
oh yeh I'm a guy, often on forums I have to point it out but guess the chances are high here!

Not at all, it was just a bit intimidating to hit those questions in the middle there. Good string of questions!
Really excited about being chosen, too! Questions are always fun to think up, and I didn't think my silly ones would be met with such excitement!
As for me, I think I'd want to be from the school from K-ON!. You know, that way I could learn to play an instrument entirely offscreen and spend my existence eating cake and doing cute things, and never have to go to class except for when it's a convenient plot point.
In regards to Eastern properties, I don't think that there'd be a strong install base outside of the most popular Shonen titles which wouldn't be able to get proper general licensing. Otherwise, I'd honestly say that a "high quality" figure culture of a sort IS in the US. Except for lacking interchangeable parts, things like the old Toy Biz Marvel Legends (and, to a lesser extent, even Mattel's DC Universe Classics line) represents higher end Western items for Western properties much in the same way that figmas are higher end Eastern items for Eastern properties. The Marvel Legends line originally came about because product managers saw the Hot Toys line and wanted to do that on a smaller scale (and yes, the creator of the line specifically cites Hot Toys as an influence. And even though Bandai's has issues with the quality (or they're doing it as a deliberate homage to the original line?) of the Thundercats Classics line, they're still solid figures in terms of articulation and accessories; in fact, the articulation on Lion-o is essentially the same as a SH Figuarts, Bandai's praised import line. And, of course, there are a lot of comic-related figure lines that do feature interchangeable bits
Granted, the West also generally has different sensibilities to its collector market. They run on a different scale, they apparently have higher adoption rates than Eastern stuff (ie, mass market), and so-on.
For your non-articulates, we do lack a prize figure culture and cheap static figures of characters aren't widely available. However, for PVC equivalents we have companies like Bowen who are more than Kotobukiya's equals (not to say that Kotobukiya isn't a fine maker). I can also think of maybe three or four dozen different Western companies that do traffic in statics, although more successful properties are generally articulate.
At any rate, I guess "almost any question" excludes editorial questions, as those were all ignored. Grrrrrr! Honestly, one of the biggest problems with Tomopop these days, and it was basically exemplified by that Hito discussion, is that the general staff thinks Sideshow is basically the entire high-end US market. That's like thinking Koto is the entire high-end Japanese market. And the majority of Western coverage here really seems to be limited to Sideshow and Entertainment Earth retweets, with maybe a little NECA coverage here or there. I was wondering if it was like a policy thing at this point, where these other lines aren't considered "art" or something or what. I understand that at this point things are somewhat up in the air but I sorta want confirmation on the general editorial stance at this point.
For the response Monster Arts question, I lol'd @ all the Goldars. I mean, really? >_< Does nobody here like the proper kaijus? Never liked the look of Lord Zedd too much as a kid but never really found him too scary. Appreciate him more now. And LOL at people forgetting Scorpina. Granted, she had like no appearances but once you hear her name you should remember her hotness. Only problem? Her giant form was a real scorpion-like monster, iirc =p Naw, seriously, that's all cool, though.
PEEDDDDDRRRRROOOOO!!!!! One of those days my fist will smash through your wall of resistance to S-Cry-Ed's awesomess.
Otherwise, my Bluefin question was more to the variance in pricing between the figures we are seeing pop up on Western sites (Vegeta is $40 but Ryuhou is $110, for instance >_
On the whole issue of procrasination, I kinda see things like this: when it comes to prioritizing, there's duty, obligation, and then less than obligation. At this point I have no real duty to review. What I do on YT is something of an obligation, which I feel compelled to keep up (and also not overload with the number of reviews I could drop sometimes). Stuff like photographies and written reviews I'd like to do, but when it comes right down to it I just don't see it as the same priority.
Props to Pedro for knowing the Arkham Asylum ref I had in mind =p It was a rather memorable twist on a classic riddle. Of course, given my *other* questions, it probably makes me look a little twisted.
