How many of the Tomo staffers have multiple roles across the Modern Media network? Are there any staffers that are strictly Tomopop?
Kinda disappointed that it wasn't a solid SW podcast, but at least the preorder section passed quickly. Loved LBP but mostly preferred solo since it made the platforming more straightforward half the time. I love the pastel-look on Yukihime but the pose doesn't really do it for me; plus the detail is great. Also would really like to see a nendo Cthulhu. And lol, yeah, it does seem like an action figure of yourself is an ultimate goal in life.
Star Wars is such a massive cult icon, but it's still kinda weird to think about people being like indoctinated into it by their parents, etc >_> Although the whole time lapse discussion is interesting and everything, honestly there shouldn't have been much of a change at all. It's not like the Republic was "gone" hundreds of years or anything, the gap between the fall of the Jedi Order (which was only one part of the Republic) to A New Hope was only like 25 years XD Plus it didn't even become the Empire all at once, as it was a gradual transition as the power shifted more to the Palpatine. The great Empire only lasted as the empire for like two decades max.
As for the The Force Unleashed talk, I should point out that Luke had a hard time doing those things because he really, really sucked at it. He had very little formal training at a late age when traditionally your jedi were recruited practically from birth and trained for it throughout their lives. It makes perfect sense that he would struggled with it while other fully-trained, more force attuned characters would have an easier time. Grats on being published like that, it sounds positively epic.
The talk of scale (TMNT vs SW) was interesting and how it really is a major consideration. I can totally understand that idea. Mighty Max was fucking awesome, series never gets enough props.
The expanded universe summary is hilarious. It is totally nuts, though. Plus a lot of the writing is pretty poor anyway, especially in the Rogue Squadron series and somewhat in the Jedi Academy series. Pod Racer was totally awesome, one of like the only upsides to Phantom Menace. SotE was great as well, between the game, book, and comics. It sounds like Krystal was directly quoting Red Letter Media's works when she discussed the prequel trilogy Oo And XD @ the dying of a broken heart and its offensiveness. Also, I think the floating Cloud City toy mentioned was from a Taco Bell promotion.
As Adam West pointed out in his autobiography, Back to the Batcave (which is a stellar read, fyi) his show wasn't that outrageous when compared to what was actually running in the comics at the time. A few years earlier, DC had added Bat-Mite (Batman's insane fan from the fifth dimension, the bastard son of Mr. Mxyzptlk and the Great Gazoo) and that kind of silliness was somewhat typical. Batman really didn't get edgy until the '80s iirc but basically everything was getting edgier at the same time.
Then there's that great irony where Mark Hamill kept landing increasingly villainous roles after previously being type-cast as one of the greatest cinema heroes of all time... and the surprising ease with which he shifts into sociopath mode as he plays serial killers.
As for "games" in my question, I was referring to the more recent console games. I played KOTOR 1 & 2 and enjoyed them, but Jedi Knight 1&2, Jedi Academy, and all the X-Wing/Tie-Fighter games... mmmm PC Star Wars games.
Yeah, the X-Wing & Tie Fighter series on the PC were baller. Tie Fighter Wars is probably the coolest game in the entire SW franchise.
