I sadly bought a L nendoroid bootleg from a seller on ebay who used legit pictures 8< (as in, they showed pictures of the box with the stickers) I was in denial for so long that it was fake!
In the realm of pvc figures, it seems that bootleg toys are almost always of lesser quality than the originals. However, as a (primarily) Transformers collector, I see a range of bootleg Transformer toys that go from horrendously bad to superior in build and paint application when compared to an original.
To go a step further, how much is the knowledge of owning legitimately licensed product worth to you? I find it very difficult to purchase bootleg figures, even when quality is comparable to the original. I may reconsider this when the price difference becomes astronomical, for example, a Takara Grand Maximus costs somewhere in the range of 2-3 thousand dollars. Known bootleg figure makers in the Transformers community have stated that they could bring the toy to market, with original quality, for around $400 shipped to the US. I suppose that's about what it would cost for me to sell out. :D

I believe that even when you used them, you should have linked to the source.
Once again, I request that you remove the photos that you have no right to use.
And to the customizers out there: do you guys ever buy bootlegs for the purpose of cannibalizing them into something really awesome?
1. Price - If it's too good to be true then it is
2. Authenticity - look for the word "authentic" in combination of clear indication of manufacture company name
3. Rating - Only consider buying from sellers with near 100% rating and 1k+ positive
4. Location - I often avoid when sellers are from China/HK, but this should be the least important/helpful information that will help you isolate possible bootleg
Not an entirely relevant question, sorry, but I was wondering why the past two shows haven't appeared on itunes?
they haven't shown up on the zune marketplace either
However, I chanced upon a user suggestion recently who suggested using bootlegs to fix/replace broken parts.
I think this is a great idea as one of my earliest Nendoroids had a broken neck (Pastel-tan), and I have been wondering if this method would be good for replacing the neck joints (as opposed to glue).
Also, has there been any news on Korea's plans to build a giant Gundam knock-off of China's giant Gundam bootleg? I was going to try to buy China's giant Gundam bootleg, but I'm half curious is Korea will make one at a better price.
The photo is here: http://imgur.com/SEw7b (sorry, total n00b with HTML stuff)
As you can see, the base is the wrong size and it's dirty, no fuzzy evebrows and the color of the uniform is weird. He is like the lost son of himself with Japan lol.
At that time I was a newbie figure collector and bought my two Hetalia One Coin sets, fortunately they were legit but costed a fortune. I stick with HS/HLJ/AmiAmi for now.
