Fans of Disney's Vinylmation series have a lot to be excited about with three new sets (well, really two sets and one solo figure) that were released today in Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and online. There are two items that are available for purchase at the Disney Store's online shop. One is Park Series 7: America on Parade, a three piece set featuring a 3 inch tall Mickey, Donald, and Goofy dressed in the costumes of the parade that took place in the parks between 19275-1976. It is limited to 5000 pieces and retails for US$44.95. The other Vinylmation available online starting today is the 40th Anniversary Walt Disney World Park Series 9 inch figure: Electrical Parade Dragon (AKA Pete's Dragon, Elliott). It is limited to 1500 pieces and costs US$74.95. I personally would choose the Electric Parade one over the America on Parade set simply because of nostalgia. The Electrical Parade got its start in Disneyland and I adored it as a child. Every time I hear snippets of "Baroque Hoedown" in the fireworks, I get misty-eyed.
And speaking of Disney Parks, there is another set of Vinylmation that was released in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World today as well: The Rescuers Vinylmation set. It features the mousy hero and heroine of Disney's The Rescuers films, Bernard and Bianca. This set has an edition size of 1200 pieces and is sold for for US$26.95.
