Yeah, an overused phrase, I know. With Transformers Animated finally hitting the shores of Japan, various products have been popping up outside the standard figure releases from TakaraTomy. A pair of products that caught my eye are the Transformers Animated Diablocks of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee by Kawada.
If you are unfamiliar with Diablocks, think LEGO. If there is anything more fun than transforming a Transformer, it's building one from scratch. So it's a cute idea to see these building block versions of Prime and Bumblebee. Translating from their drawn form into blocks however is another story. Bumblebee is not so bad but Prime looks like a mess no matter how you have him. His face also makes me think of Megaman's Gutsman.
Again, cute idea. If you want to build your Transformers, head on over to AmiAmi to preorder Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. Prime is available for 3,103 yen and Bumblebee will cost 2,613 yen. Both will be available next month.
