The Okamiden boxed set is 100% d'awww

Fans of Okami, Nintendo DS owners, and connoisseurs of cuteness definitely won't want to miss this little red box (and, no, not the red box outside of Wal-Mart, you silly person).

The Okamiden boxed set includes a copy of the DS sequel to Okamiden, Okami, four other adorable trinkets, and enough kawaii-ness to choke a full-grown wolf sun goddess (So, um, yeah, it's very cute). Capcom's online site is taking reservations in preparation  for the September 30 release with the wallet-squeezing retail price of 8,000 yen ($93 USD). The game by itself costs 5,040 yen ($59 USD).

Hit the jump for all the details!

First up in the set is a 10 cm (3.9 inch) Chibi-terasu, a mini-version of Okami's Amaterasu, plush that the site suggests is for your keychain or bag.

Second is a CD/DVD combo called Oto to Hikari no Tamatebaco, lit. The Precious Box of Sound and Light. The CD has three original arrangements of the games background music and three matching guitar arrangements. You can listen to samples of these tracks on the pre-order page. The DVD contains "promotional video," which in my experience just means they put the game trailers and maybe a few TV ads on a disc for you. Hopefully it's not Region 2?

Next, there's a short story called Kuninushi no Kioku to Fujimi no Youkai (Kuninushi's Memories and the Immortal Apparition) from the game's writer and scenario manager Yukinori Kitajima with artwork by Yuu Satsuki, who did the artwork for the book Okami E Monogatari (Okami Picture Chronicles). It's a story about Chibi-terasu, the tiny wolf, and Kuninushi, the little guy who rides on the wolf's back and is the son of Okami's Susano.

Finally — and here's the deal-breaker for me — there are paw-print earbuds. Just look at them! They probably have the tinniest sound quality ever, but they're easily my favorite thing in the set. The Chibi-terasu face slides up and down the cord wires, making the length a little adjustable.

But, wait! There's more! If you're one of the first to order, you also get an Okamiden-themed screen cleaner AND DS stylus.

Just a friendly reminder that all of this is in Japanese — international release dates for Okamiden have not yet been announced.

So will you be buying this? As usual, I don't think we can expect any kind of international release for this boxed set.

I just checked Wikipedia the source for all truthiness in the internet.

They are saying in 2011 we will see NA and EU releases of this game! Hopefully we can get similar AMAZING bundles if we preorder! :D

Tomopop Review: Kotobukiya's Tekken Bishoujo Lili

I haven't played a lot of Tekken games in my life, but I am enjoying Kotobukiya's Tekken Bishoujo figures. Overall, it's a solid line of figures. The latest one to arrive is Emilie de Rochefort, otherwise known as Lili. This figure has its unique charms, as I was pleased to discover during the review process. Read on to see what I mean!
