TGS 2012: Kotobukiya's swimsuit Miki from IdolM@ster photo

Our friends over at Tokyo Hunter have provided us with a lot of excellent photos from Tokyo Game Show 2012 this weekend! Thanks to them we are able to bring you previews of lots of upcoming figurines that have been displayed there. Among these is a Kotobukiya figure of Miki from IdolM@ster, wearing a swimsuit.

I will, once again claim to not be a fan of swimsuit figures, but now, once again I am writing about one. Maybe seeing so many swimsuit figures will one day make me take the plunge to buy one. If I did, I would buy a high quality one like this Miki.

Kotobukiya did a beautiful job on her hair sculpt. It does not look so solid and made of plastic as much as most figurines. Her hair is more like how I would expect it to look straight from the animated series of The Idol Master. Her hair has depth, layers, and little sprigs here and there as well as her ahoge on top. It is all kind of messy and good looking.

Miki's swimsuit is a little too revealing for my taste. I do appreciate how she holds her towel out behind her, while it doesn't make her look any more modest, it does make her look more interesting. Overall I like her. What do you think Tomopeeps? Is she just another pretty body, or do you think she might hold a future spot on your shelves?

[Thanks to Tokyo Hunter for providing us with these photos!]

Tomopop Review: Kotobukiya's ArtFX J Jonouchi Katsuya

When Kotobukiya first announced that Jonouchi Katsuya would be to be joining Yami Yugi (reviewed) and Seto Kaiba (reviewed) in the ArtFX J line, I was pretty ecstatic. As a fan of the Yu-Gi-Oh! series, I felt the line was a ...

No doubt that Transformers Masterpiece figures are popular. Be it from Hasbro or Takara Tomy they have a tendency to sell out pretty quickly as pre-orders, to say nothing of their actual release date. It's pretty common for t...
