Skybound announces their Walking Dead SDCC exclusives photo
Skybound announces their Walking Dead SDCC exclusives
by Vanessa Cubillo

So Skybound has finally decided that it’s time to announce their SDCC exclusives. Of course they’re all mostly from The Walking Dead comic series, and I’m not complaining. First up is a limited edition figure of Ezekiel from McFarlane Toys.

He’ll be coming with his sword cane, but not his tiger. For US$25, Ezekiel will be available in full color or black and white with blood splattered. Next, if you wanted to cosplay as Negan, you’ll need a replica of his bat, Lucille.

So here it is! This mini replica bat is made of vinyl and designed by October Toys. Limited to 2500, this will be US$40. There will also be a Skybound Minis two-pack that will feature Rick from The Walking Dead, and Invincible, from the self-titled comic series.

Designed by Scott Tolleson, these will come blind boxed with the possibility of being one of six colors. Limited to 5000, the two-pack will be US$20. The last toy exclusives will be more figures from The Walking Dead PVC Miniatures line.

These two-packs will have figures of Abraham, Jesus, and Andrea each with a zombie. They will be available in grey, grey with blood platter, purple, and glow in the dark. The purple and glow in the dark ones will be limited to 500, and the grey and grey with blood splatter will be limited to 250.

You can get these for US$10 each. All of these exclusive toys will be available at Skybound’s SDCC booth #2729.

Tamashii announces Sailor Moon Moon Stick prop replica photo
Tamashii announces Sailor Moon Moon Stick prop replica
by Vanessa Cubillo

Yes! The Sailor Moon world has been buzzing with this news for some time, and now Tamashii Nations has finally officially announced that they will be releasing a prop replica of Sailor Moon's Moon Stick. First seen at the Sailor Moon musical, La Reconquista, the Moon Stick is the first release from a new line from Bandai called Proplica.

Proplica? Really? Anyway, the Moon Stick will be a full scale replica of Sailor Moon's weapon. So this should be good for cosplayers, collectors, and anyone else who wants to pretend they're Sailor Moon in the privacy of their home.

This will also feature the silver crystal, seven color LED, sound recording by Sailor Moon's voice actress, Kotono Mitsuishi, and come with a special display stand. Will this be better than the Moon Stick they released in the 90's? It certainly looks nice and shiny in these photos, but in person is another thing. The Proplica Moon Stick will be released in April for ¥8,800.

Check out this cool Sailor Moon toy weapons guide photo
Check out this cool Sailor Moon toy weapons guide

It's been a great time to be a Sailor Moon fan! With the celebration of their 20th anniversary, there has been news of new action figures, phone cases, makeup, plushes and even a new anime. Now there has even been news that Tamashii Nations will be making Sailor Moon's Moon Stick.

The prototype of this wand was seen at the latest Sailor Moon musical, La Reconquista. Not much is known so far about the Moon Stick except that it lights up. It's interesting to see that this will be one of the next Sailor Moon items they make after the five Sailor Scouts.

I'm still hoping they'll make Tuxedo Mask and the other Sailor Scouts, maybe even Queen Beryl. For now, we know that we'll be seeing the Moon Stick soon enough. So before we look forward to this new release, we can look back at all the Sailor Moon weapons and transformation toys they've come out with.

Rocket News 24 has come out with a great comprehensive guide of all of these toys complete with pictures. This guide is so good that I didn't even know they made half of these toys when I was a kid. I only had the Moon Stick, Transformation Brooch and Cosmic Crescent Jewel Box.

Just looking at these old toys now makes me want to waste a ridiculous amount of money online and get some of them. I keep looking at the Holy Grail and that Cosmic Heart Compact! The Sailor Moon weapon designs have always been beautiful.

That's why they make great jewelry, and that's why women are going crazy over the Miracle Romance makeup line. How many Sailor Moon fans had some of these toys? Be real, how many fans still have them? I know I do! I might even be getting some more...

SDCC 2013: eFX

eFX had an assortment of very nice, very expensive things on display. The officially licensed prop replica maker's booth consisted mostly of Star Wars items, including a very neat unpainted version of Boba Fett's helmet. Join me after the jump for an up-close look at some things a bit out of my price range.
