Hello Tomopop readers!
Here we are in a brand new month, so I think it’s about time we roll out a brand new photo contest! March is the start of Women’s History Month, today also just happens to be Girl’s D...
A Green Lantern 1:1 Scale Power Battery (signed by Geoff Johns)
The amazing new Wonder Woman The Art of War: Wonder Woman by Jim Lee statue (signed by the artist himself, Jim Lee)
The DC Comics Super Heroes: Batman bust by Jim Lee (also signed by Lee)
A DC Comics Super-Villains: Suicide Squad Harley Quinn action figure
The 2013 SDCC Convention Exclusive: Batman: Arkham City: Hugo Strange action figure
The sweepstakes is limited to residents of the United States (sorry, rest of the world!) and will run until March 2nd (technically 11:59 p.m. on March 1st) when one very lucky entrant will be chosen. Will that lucky entrant be you? Enter now.
Reminder: The deadline for this contest is this Saturday. Submit your valentine for a chance to win!
It’s officially February, so that means Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Can’t you just feel the love in the air? Ok, well I just smell chocolate and that’s good enough for me.
My favorite part about this day is giving out valentine cards to all the people I care about. It’s even better when you make the valentine yourself, and that brings us to the contest! Here at Tomopop we love toys, and if you’re here, so do you.
So we want you to show that love by making a valentine for your favorite figure or fictional character. You can make your valentine any way you want. You can write it, draw it, bake it, knit it, etc.
Whatever you choose to do, make sure you take a picture and submit it in the comments here. Your valentine can be cute, sweet, creepy, funny, any way you want. Just be creative!
For example, one of my favorite figures is my Rick Grimes Pop! so I crocheted him a little heart he can hold. Hopefully you’ll be much more creative than me. The best submission we get will win an exclusive Funko Supernatural Castiel Pop! figure. I know what you're thinking, and the answer is yes, you can make a valentine for Castiel!
You’ll have until February 15 to submit your entries.
Happy Chinese New Year, Tomopop readers. Today begins the Year of the Wooden Horse, and hopefully this year will bring all of you lots of luck and success. Thank you to everyone who entered this contest, it was nice to hear what figures you are waiting for.
Now without further ado, the winner of this contest is quicksilver! You will be receiving Drew Oliver's Computer Virus Trojan plush and Computer Virus Trojan keychain. Please email your name and address to Vanessa@tomopop.com.
Our next contest will be happening very soon, so be on the lookout!
Chinese New Year is almost upon us. The Year of the Black Snake will be over on January 31, and the Year of the Wooden Horse will begin. To celebrate, we’re giving away a Computer Virus Trojan plush and keychain from Drew Oliver’s collection.
Get it? Trojan…wooden horse? Ok, it’s lame! Still, we’re giving away this set to one lucky Tomopop reader. You can also read our Tomopop review of the Computer Virus collection here.
So since we’re celebrating a new year, I want to know what figures and collectibles are you looking forward to in 2014? Answer that question in the comments and I’ll pick a winner on January 31.
A big thank you to everyone who entered out latest Micropixel contest! This time round the theme we set was 'Best of Friends' and you guys certainly took that to heart, pairing up your figures to produce some great shots.
As ever, the editorial team was pretty split over who they wanted to win, but at the end of the day we opted to go with IAmOneWithTheWindAndSky's adorable picture of Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl, as seen in the header above. Big congrats IAmOneWithTheWindAndSky, email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) to claim your prize! Very well done to all the other entrants as well for turning out some great shots. Keep your eyes peeled for another competition in the near future!
Christmas will soon be upon us, so what better time to start giving stuff away? Yes, it's time for a new photo contest!
The theme this time out will be Best of Friends. We want to see your figures hanging out with each other, spending some quality time. Naturally, two figures is the obvious way to go here, but don't let that restrain you - we'll accept pictures of figures with pets or even people, as long as it's a great shot. Be imaginative and creative. If it's unexpected or makes us laugh, that's extra points!
If you're interested in entering, then you can comment on this post with your photo or a link to your photos. Alternatively, post over in the Cblogs - we'd love to see how you went about taking your pictures. You're only allowed to enter once per person, so bring your A-game. This contest is open for readers worldwide, but please note if you're outside the United Kingdom then we'd nicely ask you to cover the cost of shipping the prize.
We've got the perfect prize for the competition too, with Alter's version of everyone's favourite yaoi couple best buddies Waver Velvet and Rider (review), from Fate/Zero, up for grabs. If you want them on your shelf, you've got until midnight CST on Monday 23rd December to get those entries in. Good luck!
Good Smile Company Europe is clearly keen to get into the Christmas spirit, as community manager Maritan has announced over on her blog that they'll be holding a special festive contest in co-operation with partner sites like Tomopop.
To enter, all you need to do is head over to Maritan's blog and fill in a short questionnaire, including the keyword you see in the image below.
It's well worth your time to do so too, as GSC is offering up some tasty prizes. The winner will receive the stunning Belldandy and Holy Bell, while the runner up doesn't do badly either, scoring Nendoroid Mikasa.
Naturally, this contest is only open to those residing in the European Union, and you have to be 18 or over (or have written permissions from a parent or legal guardian). You've got from today until January 10th to enter, so head over and give it a go, and let us know if you strike gold!
Back in August, Diamond Select Toys announced that it would be holding a Marvel Select-themed photo contest with a number of prizes which included MS prototypes, rare variants, and the such. The results are in and apparently the Rhino has charged to victory, being the subject of both Ryan Vasquez's winning photo (see header) and first runner-up (a.k.a. second place) Earl E. Ware's photo which depicts Rhino stomping on Spider-man. Second runner-up (or third place) went to Geof Le Baron, who shot Marvel Select's Agent Venom being overpowered by the fan-favorite Classic Venom.
Additionally, DST has recognized a number of other entries as being worthy of mention (they're also in the gallery). Personally I was impressed by Emmanuel's beach scene although, given it's an absurdly wide panoramic shot, I can understand why it didn't win for practicality reasons. However, I'd encourage you to download that one and just zoom in on each section since it's pretty creative. Fred also deserves some props for going all out with his rogues' gallery scene since he has NINE figures in there (including Deadpool peeking through a window) and it looks like it's all just DST-created Marvel Select merchandise which makes it a great showcase for the line's offerings.
Be sure to check out the gallery for all the photos and let us know who you think should have won.
Last week I announced a giveaway contest for one Funko Avengers Thor Pop! figure. Thank you to everyone who entered. I never get tired of hearing why Thor is so great! Unfortunately, I could only pick one winner, which I did by random.
So congratulations to Zero!!
You will be receiving this nifty Thor bobblehead figure. Please email me at Vanessa@tomopop.com with the header "Thor Contest Winner".
Tomopop readers, be on the look out for more fun contests and giveaways that will be happening in the near future!
It seems like just yesterday I was watching a fairly unknown Chris Hemsworth on the big screen portraying Marvel’s Norse God, Thor. Now two years and three Marvel movies later, Chris Hemsworth is back as Thor in Thor: The Dark World. I’ll admit that I’ve been enchanted by this golden god, and my love for him lead to me receiving two of the same figure.
Still, that’s good news for you! I’ll be giving away one Funko Avengers Thor Pop! figure to one lucky Tomopop reader. This is a vinyl figure that's over three inches tall and looks like Chris Hemsworth's Thor from Avengers. The figure will come mint in box.
To enter to win all you have to do is leave a comment and write why you like Thor. You have until November 12 to leave a comment. I’ll be taking my Thor Pop! figure with me to see Thor: The Dark World this weekend. Wouldn’t you like a tiny Marvel superhero as your movie companion too?
