Witness toy history with this 1983 Tokyo Toy Show video

There are a lot of retro nostalgia toy videos on YouTube; mostly retrospects and individuals gushing about their favorite figures. So rare is it for a video to surface that takes a slice right out of time, and even more-so wh...

Take a ride on the wild side w/ ThreeZero's Shield Liger

ThreeZero's 1/72 scale Shield Liger is currently available for pre-order. Readers may recall that I absolutely raved about ThreeZero's Shield Liger and Iron Kong back when they were shown off at Summer WonFes. The Shield Lige...

Pre-order this massive 1/72 RZ-001 Gojulas by Kotobukiya

I have been a fan of Zoids ever since I saw the first episode - no ever since I saw the intro animation to Zoids Genesis back when it first aired on Toonami. There is something fun about mixing creatures and mecha together. H...

Miyazawa Model Exhibition: Griffon Enterprises

Griffon Enterprises might be known for two things: Touhou Project and, well, boobs. This is easily demonstrated with the number of releases they have had from the Ikki Tousen series and ToHeart series. This later statement st...

Figutto Zoids Girl Shield Liger is now up for pre-order

There are a few things that I haven't expected. Mecha musume is nothing new, especially with the long-running Busou Shinki line, the popularity of Strike Witches and the recent release of Bandai's Armored Girl Plus line. The ...

Treasure Festa in Ariake 7: Griffon Enterprises photo
Treasure Festa in Ariake 7: Griffon Enterprises
by Natalie Kipper

Treasure Festa is going on right now in Japan and Griffon Enterprises has a ton of new items to show off. A large portion of the figures previewed were from the doujin series, Touhou Project, with characters like Remilia Scarlett and Koishi Komeiji (she actually has two figures). There was also a display of a new Genmu Senki Leda figure of the series' red-haired heroine, Yoko. Other toys were teased via drawings or photos. A Figutto Zoidsgirl personifying the Zoid Shield Lyger is in development. Hideyoshi Kinoshita of the anime, Baka to Test to Shokanjuu, will be made into a 1/7-scale figure as well. Three series were named for upcoming figures sans the names of the chosen characters; all we are given are silhouettes. Those series are Another, Ano Natsu de Matteru, and the MMO, Sword Art Online.

Playing opposite of the lovely ladies (and gentleman), were the dinosaurs of Griffon Enterprises' Master Fossil series. There seems to be both fossilized and life-like versions of the models, as shown by the "Skeleton Model series" Allosaurus and the rest of the figures belonging to the "Life Model series." While the majority of them were the typical Tyranosaurus and Velociraptor variety, it was nice to see more obscure scaly guys like the Anomalocaris and Diplocaulus.

Check out the gallery to see all of new figures that were on display at Griffon Enterprises' booth at Treasure Festa in Ariake 7. What do you think of this line-up? Any guesses as to who the teased silhouettes are?

Reserve or Regret? Import round up for April 3, 2012
