MegaHobby Expo 2014 Spring: ALTAiR teases last two UtaPri boys

Hobby Search captured an image of a teaser for the final two male members of STARISH from Uta no Prince-Sama, Syo Kurusu and Natsuki Shinomiya, to complete the set in scaled figures. They're a lovely pair, and from the looks ...

Have a full, delicious look at ALTAiR's Ren and Masato
by Kristina Pino

It's been a few weeks since we finally saw Ren and Masato in their full-color glory, but alas, we were only able to admire them from the front! But ALTAiR have just updated their blog with more images and all is right with the world.

Of course, they both look absolutely fantastic. Masato comes with an extra face that gives him a more serious look, and Ren comes with a swoon-worthy smolder as his alternate expression. As expected of ALTAiR, all the other details look great.

In more good news, it looks like these two will be going up for pre-order this coming Wednesday, so fans won't have to wait too long now to reserve their pretty UtaPri boys. Are these bad boys on your list? Check the gallery for plenty of images to help you in that decision.

UtaPri's Ren and Masato are now fabulously painted

ALTAiR have just revealed the painted prototypes of Hijirikawa Masato and Jinguji Ren, which were last seen back towards the end of August. As with the others in this set, they are dressed up in their idol gear, and looking t...

ALTAiR reveals Hijirikawa Masato and Jinguji Ren
by Yami Casas

ALTAiR recently updated their blog and revealed the long awaited prototypes for Uta no Prince-sama's Hijirikawa Masato and Jinguji Ren. Although ALTAiR did display both boys during Wonder Festival Summer 2013, there was a pesky "no photography" sign posted in front of them, which made it impossible to leak any pictures much to my dismay. Of course, all of that is water under the bridge as both sculpts look amazing!

Dressed in their "Maji Love 1000%" outfits, I love how each of the boys has his own distinct pose. Masato looks absolutely adorable with that gorgeous smile as he belts out a tune; however, it's hard to resist Ren's come-hither look. Ren always finds a way to work his charm, with or without the aid of a microphone. While I do find the flirtatious pose perfectly captures Ren's personality, I am hopeful that ALTAiR will also include an alternate option to pose him with a microphone, as well.

As a big fan of the games and the anime, I couldn't ask for anything more. ALTAiR has exceeded my expectations with the remarkable work they've done on the UtaPri line so far. Needless to say, I can't wait to see Masato and Ren painted! What about you think about the boys prototypes, Tomocchi's? Are you as excited as I am?

Animate Girls Festival 2012: UtaPri teases and displays photo
Animate Girls Festival 2012: UtaPri teases and displays
by Natalie Kipper

The game turned anime, Uta no Prince-sama, saw some figure action over at Japan's Animate Girls Fesitval. Alter had two of the boy singers on display and teased two more. The figures on display were of the the blue-haired idol Tokiya and the youthful redheaded Otoya. Both of the boys are in very dynamic poses, with hands outstretched mid-song and clothes seem to be frozen in movement. It is all very eye-catching. They will also be able to switch between two different facial expressions. Check out the gallery to see more on the that.

The wealthy pianist Masato and the flirtatious blond Ren were revealed at the event. They were really just two images on at the booth but, with Tokiya and Otoya looking this good, I can't imagine they will turn out anything less than fabulous.

Mikatan previews the chibi idols of Uta no Prince-Sama photo
Mikatan previews the chibi idols of Uta no Prince-Sama
by Kristina Pino

In Mikatan's latest blog update, we got to take a gander at upcoming petites of the primary male cast of UtaPri previously seen at Winter Wonder Festival. They're wearing their school uniforms instead of their idol outfits, but still looking as cute as ever. Check out the gallery for images of Ittoki, Hijirikawa, Natsuki, Ren, Syo, and of course - Tokiya! Apparently, there is also a "secret character," which may or may not be Haruka. Though, I'd personally rather see another figure of Tokiya as the idol Hayato.

The set looks cute overall, and they'll even come in boxes of eight instead of the usual 12 since there are just seven figures. The only real drawback is these are an Animate exclusive, so you'll have to take a few extra steps (and fast) to snag these.

[update: Fire up your proxies for a chance at pre-ordering these figures! Also, Mikatan has posted a "part 2" of her UtaPri review, and you can check it out right here.]
