Got a Railgun messing up your plans? Pre-order these two ITEMs.

A Certain Scientific Railgun S introduced me to the mercenary team ITEM, and its two most prominent members (Mugino and Frenda) quickly became two of my favorite characters in the show. I was hoping to see some figures m...

Cu-Poche Mikoto Misaka is the ultimate in pocketable railguns photo
Cu-Poche Mikoto Misaka is the ultimate in pocketable railguns
by Tianxiao Ma

It's been a while since we heard about Kotobukiya's Cu-Poche Mikoto Misaka, but Akiba Hobby has a grand gallery up for your viewing. The articulation of the Cu-Poche design should lead to dynamic poses, which will make up somewhat for the plain character design.

The Railgun heroine will come with two effects pieces to reflect her powers, an iron (sand) sword, teddy bear, variant hair clip, and a handful of expressions on top. It looks like a pretty good package, so I'm looking forward to see what the figure community can do with her.

Cu-Poche Mikoto Misaka bolts to pre-orders

I wasn't initially a huge fan of Kotobukiya's Cu-Poche line, but they've done a great job of winning me over and I'm totally on board now. Their latest release is a looking great too as the company takes on the ever popular l...

Go casual fridays with this Ruiko pre-order

A pretty girl in little more than a button-down top is one of life's simple pleasures, and that's just what we're getting from Chara-Ani. Blasphemy it may be, I've never been a huge Index fan despite having partaken of a fair...

Preview the fun of Kuroko and Misaka Nendoroids photo
Preview the fun of Kuroko and Misaka Nendoroids
by Jon Wills

Just when I think I'm started to get bored of seeing Nendoroids looking cute and doing cute things Kahotan posted some very squee-worthy photos of Nendoroid Kuroko (last seen at Wonder Festival) messing with a Nendoroid Misaka. Seeing it reminds me of good times laughing and sometimes cringing at Toaru Kagaku no Railgun. The series had some good and bad moments but really, for the most part it was great fun. It's nice to see that some of it can be re-created in Nendoroid style.

Though Kuroko is fun to pose with other Nendoroids she has a ton of accessories just by herself. She comes with handcuffs, her school bag and iron arrow holster, three different expressions and most epicly a pair of frog panties that obviously belong to Misaka. Only she would wear panties with a frog pattern on them!

Check out the gallery to see all of the cute photos, including some censored ones that show other Nendoroids wearing Misaka's panties.

Cu-Poche Mikoto is a level 5 (in cuteness)

A Certain Scientific Railgun S is a heck of a show, and it's about time we saw more Mikoto figures. This month's magazine scans have a Cu-Poche version on display, set for 2014. You can see a pretty good range of accessories:...

Skirts off and pre-orders on for new Mikoto Misaka figure

Griffon shows off a new Mikoto and something else too photo
Griffon shows off a new Mikoto and something else too
by Martin Siggers

With the second season of A Certain Scientific Railgun now in full swing more figures of heroine Mikoto Misaka were an inevitability and the latest scans have shown that it's going to be Griffon first off the mark. Shots show they're preparing a 1/8 scale Mikoto in a very cool looking pose, although given there's no face detail or paint we're looking at a pretty early prototype. We do get a price though, ¥7,800.

The scans also tease a figure from the recent A Certain Magical Index movie and while it's just a silhouette, that big flapping headdress is a dead giveaway that this is the titular Index. I've always thought Index has a great look for figures so I'm somewhat surprised we haven't seen more of her in recent years. Let's hope Griffon can pull these two off.

Kotobukiya's Mikoto Misaka comes with all the frills photo
Kotobukiya's Mikoto Misaka comes with all the frills
by Martin Siggers

She's been available for pre-orders for a while, but today Danny Choo was able to give us a much closer look at Kotobukiya's upcoming beach version of Mikoto Misaka and I dare anybody to not be absolutely charmed by what we see.

I'm not normally one for swimsuit figures but this one is simply adorable. Mikoto looks relaxed and happy and her (refreshingly modest) bikini is incredibly cute and beautifully sculpted and painted. Frills and polka dots? I'm in! Then there's that marvelous base, with its awesome and clever see-through water effect. That little splash she's kicking up just seals the deal perfectly and its a rare example of a base adding a huge amount to the overall look of a figure.

It's such a smart looking figure it's causing me to seriously waver on my stance towards swimsuits. If you're more decisive than me about wanting to take her home with you, hit up our pre-order post.
