New S.U.C.K.L.E. colorway invades Toy Art Gallery

Toy Art Gallery's newest release thinks you're a jerk, because it's the Sucklord's S.U.C.K.L.E. set in a new clear red colorway! Yes, the same 10 figures are available in a new colorway, and really, that's about all that's new here. Isn't that the case with most colorways, though?  The TAG-exclusive set will be US$25 and on sale Wednesday at noon Pacific (3 p.m. Eastern, 8 p.m. GMT).

SDCC 2013: DKE Toys

Most of what DKE Toys had at their SDCC booth this year were the exclusives for the show, eschewing the gigantic booth they've had in years past. That meant that unlike years past, there were no tiny surprises tucked away in ...

Sucklord's Best Buddies headed to SDCC

Being one of the bigger booths, DKE Toys has a lot of SDCC exclusives, and their old friend The Sucklord is rolling out a special set for them. Perhaps timed appropriately given the recent U.S. Supreme Court rulings, Sucklord has a new Gay Empire set he's calling Best Buddies, featuring two pink Suckpegs designed to resemble Sesame Street's Bert and Ernie. You know, in case the pink-and-black backing card didn't give it away.

The duo will be at DKE's booth (#5045) in a run of 50 sets for US$75 each. I've always enjoyed the Suckpegs as someone who grew up a Fisher-Price kid, but even for a limited run, that seems like a lot of money. Anyone agree (or disagree)?

So now that voting for the Designer Toy Awards this year is closed ... what's left but to party? That's what'll be happening on Oct. 13 in New York City (smack dab on the third day of NYCC) with the Designer Toy Awards 2012! This year, the whole thing is going down in a ridiculously nice looking place: Providence NYC (311 W. 57th St., near Columbus Circle and Central Park) starting at 8 p.m. Eastern. Tomopop will be in attendance, so we'll be bringing you the sights and award winners!

Also worth noting, and mentioned before, is that The Sucklord is hosting. But on top of that, there will be a special Sucklord figure made just for the occasion and on sale at the DTAs only. More info on the Sucklord Host 2012 figure will come soon, and we'll bring it to you!
