Tomopop About Town: Squadt Assembly

Earlier this month, Rotofugi played host to the opening of Ferg's Squadt Assembly show, featuring both custom Squadts and the chance to build your own Squadt. We didn't get to make it out to the opening, but while I was in town for C2E2, I stopped by the shop to check out the Squadt action.

Check out the gallery for some shots from the exhibition; it's still running for the rest of this week at Rotofugi's gallery (until May 5). What's more, almost all of the accessories that were available when I was at the store are still in stock; you can check out the remaining inventory on Rotofugi's shop, along with the rest of their Squadt Assembly merchandise.

Jamungo gives us a Halloween Squadt Treat photo
Jamungo gives us a Halloween Squadt Treat

Halloween brings us a new Playge Doctor Squadt from Jamungo, the s003 [TREATS]. So what does the little fellow come with? Besides being cast in flat black, with a black wizard cloak that has the Playge logo patterned on it and a removable plague doctor's mask with translucent orange eyes, s003 [TREATS] comes with ... well ... candy? Technically, they're Playge candy treats, coming inside a special black canvas carrying bag. Oh, and you get a lovely translucent orange vinyl katana and sword cane, to boot. Playge Doctor does not mess around, it seems.

Want to pick one up? They go on sale very shortly at noon Central (1 p.m. Eastern, 10 a.m. Pacific) in the Project Squadt store for US$95 (includes shipping). There's 200 of these being made, which is a bit more than the 100 for last year's Halloween special Squadt.

Squadt goes to the dogs with the Frozen Whole K11 pack

Jamungo's Squadt series just dropped a new three-pack of figures this afternoon, the Frozen Whole K11 pack. Limited to 200 pieces (with 50 as yellow snow chase variants), the set of 4-inch vinyl figures features ROVR, SPIKE and FIDO, each with their own little helmets, jackers and modular harnesses.

The bad news? Almost as soon as they've gone up today, they've sold out. That seems to happen a lot with the Squadts, but more designs will be on the way soon, including Trouble Boy #7, Squadt Fr0g and the K11 Boomer, so stay tuned for info on those!
