Metallic Hikari Michelangelo will allow you to complete your metallic TMNT set photo
Metallic Hikari Michelangelo will allow you to complete your metallic TMNT set
by Scarecroodle

What are you doing this weekend? If you're starting your weekend early at SDCC, you have the chance to pick up Funko's Hikari Metallic Michelangelo at the Nickelodeon booth (#3114). If not, you have the usual chance to win one on Funko's Facebook page.

Metallic Michelangelo is the final figure needed to complete a Metallic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line-up, as his announcement follows that of Leonardo, Raphael, and Donatello. Like his three sofubi brothers, Metallic Michelangelo is limited to a 500-piece run although he'll be a bit harder to get your hands since he's being sold at SDCC (doubly hard if you aren't actually at SDCC).

No word on a price point yet, but the other metallic deco turtles were listed for around US$50.

Secret Base, TAG releasing SpongeBob X-Ray DX photo
Secret Base, TAG releasing SpongeBob X-Ray DX
by Brian Szabelski

Legendary Japanese toy maker Secret Base has partnered with Nickelodeon to release the latest figure in their X-Ray series, SpongeBob X-Ray DX. Yes, my favorite animated fry cook is being made into a 5-inch soft vinyl figure with a full skeleton (Editor's note: Yes, he is a sponge. But it's a cartoon, too.). Half of the figure is clear and the other half painted to look like SpongeBob, and each figure comes with one of five exclusive T-shirts (two Secret Base versions and three Secret Base x DOARAT versions).

Toy Art Gallery is the official and exclusive U.S. distributor of SpongeBob X-Ray DX, who goes on sale Friday at noon Pacific (3 p.m. Eastern) for US$185 both in-store and online. Seems like a lot, yes, but this a limited edition release and those never come cheap. In fact, I think this is somewhat appropriate.

Toy Fair 2012: Jazwares

ADVENTURE TIME! ...is one of the highlights from Jazwares at this year's Toy Fair. It really is one of those series that easily appeals to children and adults with its content. Makes me think of Animaniacs with some of the th...
