The on again off again license that is ThunderCats seems to be on again as insiders from Mezco have said that the toy company will be showing off new ThunderCats figures at the 2015 Toy Fair on February 14th.
ThunderCats was ...
Unlock new "adventurers" from iconic Final Fantasy character designer Yoshitaka Amano and a new scenario from Yasumi Matsuno, designer of Final Fantasy XII. Also, Terra Battle received the highly anticipated online co-op mode update that allows players to work together to clear stages and adds summons to the battlefield.
The Mortal Kombat franchise seems to have finally caught a break as Mezco displayed some great-looking figures based on the upcoming Mortal Kombat X. Other items on display included some Judge Dredd figures and the Dark Knight Returns Batman along with the expected (and now familiar) mix of tv show toys, Living Dead Dolls, and the such.
The headliners here are obviously the Mortal Kombat figures which, despite possibly having smallish heads and somewhat lacking in articulation, look great. I can't recall the last time that I wanted to pick up a Mortal Kombat figure but these are solid renditions that feature nice detail and cool paintwork... just not as much articulation as I'd like. The first three figures unveiled were predictably the ninjas Scorpion and Subzero along with series staple Raiden. These are probably the best we'll see for quite some time. Look for them in 2015.
Almost everything else (including Batman) seemed to be on display at SDCC. However, the one obvious exception were some Judge Dredd figures... which we only have blurry photos of (but here's AFI's coverage to make up for it). Like Batman, the figure seems to have a separate costume (albeit of a different material, one better suited to Judge Dredd) and has a decent amount of detail. However, given that the material looks to be thick, I'm wondering how well the articulation will work.

Mezco's booth once again featured a good deal of Sons of Anarchy and Breaking Bad collectibles, including a Gus Fring figure and a spoiler-y Gus Fring figure (so avoid the rest of that photo if you're planning on watching the show) as well as a Saul Goodman bobblehead (better call your favorite retailers!). Among the other items on display was the new Frank Miller-inspired Dark Knight Batman line, some new Living Dead Dolls, and so on.
I remain impressed by the Gillman and Headless Horseman Living Dead Dolls; however, I'm a little confused since the Headless Horseman is currently available for pre-order but there's nothing about his horse. A few of the additions look neat as well.
Be sure to check out the gallery, especially since I can't ID any of the Sons of Anarchy and Breaking Bad characters. You know, if nothing else, Mezco's booth is a reminder that I really need to watch those shows already...
After the announcement of Funko’s Breaking Bad Pop! figures, we’re getting more toys from the hit AMC show. I celebrate this, becauseI’m finally watching now, and I get to enjoy in the excitement I couldn’t back then. So Entertainment Earth showed that they will have an exclusive Breaking Bad figure from Mezco.
The figure is of Jesse Pinkman wearing an orange hazmat suit. This limited edition figure is six inches tall and will come with a gas mask and a tub of blue crystal. This figure’s likeness to Aaron Paul is alright.
It’s not terrible, but it’s better than some of the other figures I’ve seen for TV shows. For instance, every Dexter figure from Bif Bang Pow! is horrible! Jesse will come in a window box with a Vamonos Pest sleeve.
Availavle in October, you can pre-order this exclusive figure now on Entertainment Earth for US$19.99.
Mezco's offerings at Toy Fair 2014 catered more towards the toy collector who favors dark, grisly entertainment. We are talking about the drug-cooking characters of Breaking Bad, those motorcycle dudes in Sons of Anarchy, and that is not even mentioning the mayhem- (and nightmare-) inducing Living Dead Dolls.
Sons of Anarchy is one of Mezco's newer licenses, with plushes being released Spring 2014 followed by six-inch figures, bobble-heads, and the collectible Mez-Itz figures in Summer 2014 then 12-inch figures coming in Fall 2014. As for Breaking Bad toys, Toy Fair revealed bobble-heads of Walt, Jesse, and Saul set to be released in Summer 2014. Also for this Summer are several six-inch figures of Walt and Jesse in different outfits with accessories and Breaking Bad Mez-Itz. We also caught a glimpse of three Breaking Bad plushes: Walt, Jesse, and the Pink Teddy Bear. Finally, we get to the Living Dead Dolls, which in all honesty, give me the heebie-jeebies something awful but to each his own. The series recently set a new world record for the longest continually produced series of collectible themed horror dolls. Good on them! Series 27 of the line will be released this Summer.
Check out the gallery below for some shots that Andres grabbed from Mezco's booth, featuring:
Loads of Axe Cop
Living Dead Dolls mini vinyl figures
Chucky and Bride dolls, plush
Breaking Bad bobble heads, plush, and more

There doesn't seem to be enough crossover for there to be confusion as to what is what, so do skip on over to the gallery and have a gander at all of these toys. Scarecroodle also notes that some of these aren't necessarily NYCC exclusives, but are store exclusives that will be sold at NYCC. If I've missed anything, please point me to it in the comments section so I could add it to this post.
Mezco will be selling a very limited edition variant of their stylized 9-inch Creature from the Black Lagoon (Gillman). The figure is currently available for pre-order and will ship during NYCC (where it presumably will also ...
A lot of manufacturers focus on particular genres of TV and films when they make toys, but apparently Mezco will just do anything under the sun. It's a good thing, though. Where else are you going to find a plush of the puppe...
Open the floodgates! The list of exclusives for the San Diego Comic Con has gone online and, while it is not yet finalized, the thing is still pretty dang long and already has me dreaming of the exhibit hall. Within the scrolling page of links, you will find items we have already previewed, like Super7's Alien ReAction 2 Pack, along with tons of new goodies (doggie Yoda ears from Petco, anyone?). You'll notice that some of the companies have dark blue "Advance Purchase" links at the top of their exclusives page. You may want to consider that if something really catches your eye.
Keep checking back to the list because new information will be added as we approach the con.
With all these SDCC exclusives being announced, Mezco doesn't want to be left out of the fun. So they have announced that their third summer exclusive will be a two-pack of Cheetara and Snarf from ThunderCats. Cheetara stands at a stunning 14 inches and has 10 points of articulation.
Coming with her signature bo-staff, Cheetara's eyes also glow in the dark. At her side will be ThunderCats sidekick, Snarf measuring in at 5 inches. These two will be packaged together in a collector-friendly window box.
Since this set is an exclusive, there will be a limited amount available. You can find Cheetara and Snarf right now on Mezco's website for US$50.
Mezco's Creepy Cuddlers plushes walk the line between cute and grotesque. Collectors must be loving the undead toys (I know I do) because the company has listed a Mega-Scale version of their Death Mittens character up for pre...
