Megahouse's Space Dandy and Honey are up for pre-order baby

OK, it might not be as delightfully continuity-baiting as Be@rbrick Dandy, but there's good news for Space Dandy fans who prefer their figures a little more traditionally styled. After popping up at MegaHobby Expo a few ...

Tokyo Toy Show: Megahouse's Youkai Watch figures

While Level-5's Youkai Watch no-showed at E3 this year (despite hopes it might pop up for North American gamers), but it sure didn't no-show Tokyo Toy Show. In fact, Megahouse had two Youkai Watch figures on display...

Demon Girl Astaroth is one sexy smurf

MegaHouse's 1/8-scale Excellent Model Astaroth is currently available for pre-order. The blue-skinned demoness (or demonette?) was apparently created for trading cards packaged with Shinra Bansho Chocolate Wafers (because not...

Pre-order Megahouse's Utena and begin the revolution photo
Pre-order Megahouse's Utena and begin the revolution
by Martin Siggers

Having seen her in colour at MegaHobby Expo (alongside the freshly revealed Anthy) we knew it was only a matter of time before Megahouse's take on iconic heroine Utena Tenjou went up for pre-orders. Now she's pre-orders have started to be listed (although curiously only at some stores - we'll update as more go live).

We also get some nice new promo shots. I must say I'm a touch concerned by some of the close up paint detail, but the overall sculpt and colour is so good I think I'll be putting my money down. Who among you is with me readers?

MegaHobby Expo 2014 Spring: MegaHouse's Yato will certainly cost more than 5 photo
MegaHobby Expo 2014 Spring: MegaHouse's Yato will certainly cost more than 5
by Jeremy Emerje Crocker

I have to admit I'm a little surprised that the first figure released for the anime series Noragami is the main character Yato. I know that seems a little strange to say, but come on, it's a guy. I was really sure the first would be the not-a-cat tailed Hiyori because, you know, she's a girl and this is Japan. Not that I'm disappointed, I'm always happy to see companies, in this case MegaHouse, buck the trend every now and then. Well, he will be part of the G.E.M. series which is dominated by male characters...

Sculpting looks pretty good, but the obvious draw, besides being a decreasingly rare male figure, is the appearance of him floating in mid air. I'm a sucker for non-typical posing like this. He's shown with a bottle which could be sake or it could be miracle cure he got from some huckster, it's hard to tell when it comes to the former war god that will do any job from finding cats to cleaning bathrooms for ¥5.

No real info on prize and release date just yet. I really hope they announce Hiyori and Yukine, if they did that I'd order for sure!

MegaHobby Expo 2014 Spring: MegaHouse's Astaroth gets painted

I like when figure makers find cool original or underrepresented character designs instead of going with what's popular, but this Astaroth figure from MegaHouse completely slipped under my radar. Astaroth is a character featu...

MegaHobby Expo 2014 Spring: G.E.M. series Anthy Himemiya from Revolutionary Girl Utena

How many of you watched the hell out of Revolutionary Girl Utena back in the day? Well, with seeing this new prototype of Anthy Himemiya, it's definitely wanting to make me go back and watch it again. It's been several y...

MegaHobby Expo 2014 Spring: MegaHouse's Honey from Space Dandy in color

We just saw her in the magazine scans, but now Honey is sweet as can be in person with her new color job. Hobby Search tweeted a picture of how she looks at MegaHobby Expo 2014 Spring, and I think I actually giggled with glee...

Tomopop Review: Portrait of Pirates Crocodile Repaint Ver. photo
Tomopop Review: Portrait of Pirates Crocodile Repaint Ver.
by Pedro Cortes

Over the years of my figure collecting, Megahouse's Portrait of Pirates line has remained my favorite series of figures. Based off of characters from the immensely popular One Piece, the figures tend to be excellent representations of guys and gals that you love, or at least love to hate.

After tearing through all the heroes, Megahouse started to release P.O.Ps of high-tier antagonists and villains. Of note was the release of Crocodile, the leader of the organized crime organization known as Baroque Works and generally a pretty big jerk. Being my favorite villain, I wanted to nab him during his first release, but financial issues prevented me buying him.

Thanks to a re-release earlier in 2014 and the kind folks at HLJ, I finally have the evil pirate in my hands. How does this repainted re-release compare to modern P.O.P. expectations? Well, you'll have to hit the jump to find out!

Tomopop Review: Alpha x Omega's Yzak Jule photo
Tomopop Review: Alpha x Omega's Yzak Jule
by Andres Cerrato

It's been a while for Megahouse's line of Gundam SEED figures. Opening first with G.E.M. Athrun Zala, then the figure of the songstress with the really long initials, RAHDXG.A.NEO Lacus Clyne, then actual main character G.E.M. Kira Yamato. The line finally comes to a hastened close with Alpha x Omega Yzak Jule. All lines aside, Megahouse has put in some great work in putting out figures for the 10th anniversary of SEED and Yzak is in a place to continue that tradition.

Find out how this figure fares in today's review of Alpha Omega Yzak Jule!

Megahouse adds Seiba Retsu and Gou to its GEM series

Megahouse's GEM series has been a line that's grown on me, in no small part to the wide variety of series it covers. You can now add another one off most people's radar to the list: Seiba Retsu and Seiba Gou from Bakusou Kyou...
