Party like it's 1991: S.H. Figuarts Yoshi announced

Jakks Pacific to produce articulated Nintendo figures, including Bowser photo
Jakks Pacific to produce articulated Nintendo figures, including Bowser
by Scarecroodle

Jakks Pacific apparently has plans to product Nintendo action figures, taking characters from such properties as Super Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda, and Donkey Kong. The news was apparently discovered via an Australian retailer who opened pre-orders for the figures.

Gaming fans may recall hearing that Jakks was producing a slew of miniature Super Mario collectibles in its Micro Land line (currently available at select retailers, including Toys "R" Us). The company apparently decided to grow its offerings -- literally and figuratively -- with larger, articulated versions of the characters which now also pulls in some friends from other games. The initial offerings are apparently a 4-inch tall Mario, Yoshi, and Link along with a 6-inch Bowser, and Donkey Kong (to give the figure some scale).

The figures, which are listed as being due out this September, aren't on par in terms of quality with imported lines but have the benefit of featuring some of characters we haven't seen from the likes of Bandai or Good Smile Company. As such, the Bowser could make a good stand-in while we wait for other companies to catch up. Otherwise it's always nice to have cheaper alternatives.

Tomopop Review: S.H. Figuarts Super Mario + Sets A & B photo
Tomopop Review: S.H. Figuarts Super Mario + Sets A & B
by Andres Cerrato

Mario is the figure that so many have wanted a quality representation of. While there have been a few over the years, they did little more than just move arms up and down. Earlier this year, Bandai brought the news that many had waited for, an articulated Mario was on the way. Long rumored, but finally in existence. Not only were we getting Mario, but there's also the expansion parts sets to add more of the Mushroom Kingdom.

How does S.H. Figuarts Mario and accessories sold separately fair? Find out in today's video review!
