NYCC 2014: Bandai of America
by Scarecroodle

While many view Bandai of America as the poor (American) man's version of Bandai of Japan, the company has notably been offering fans things that its Asian counterpart have not: the American-exclusive Power Rangers villains (Lord Zedd and now Ivan Ooze) and recreations of the ninetiestalgic Power Rangers Zords and accessories. Otherwise BoA continues to offer the more kid-friendly, affordable merchandise that it's known for.

Details (and images) after the jump.

Under the Radar: Bandai's scary awesome, scary expensive S.H. MonsterArts Mecha King Ghidorah now available for pre-order photo
Under the Radar: Bandai's scary awesome, scary expensive S.H. MonsterArts Mecha King Ghidorah now available for pre-order
by Scarecroodle

Bandai of Japan's S.H. MonsterArts Mecha King Ghidorah, which recently received a preview gallery, is currently available for pre-order. Standing roughly 25-centimeters tall (9.8-inches), this mighty Godzilla rogue is sure to dominate your shelves.

Fans may recall that Mecha King Ghidorah first appeared in 1991's Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, where a defeated (and dead) Ghidorah was upgraded with cyborg parts to do battle with Godzilla in a climatic "final" confrontation.

S.H. MonsterArts Mecha King Ghidorah features die-cast parts which presumably add to the price (although it's still less expensive than the S.H. MonsterArts Biollante) and comes with interchangeable mechanical "hands" (which attach to the torso armor) as well as three Dorat figures (the creatures that originally mutated into King Ghidorah).

Bandai's S.H. MonsterArts Mecha King Ghidorah can be pre-ordered for US$200 (which, again, is less than S.H. MonsterArts Biollante) and is slated for a March release.

This 24 karat gold Godzilla statue prefers to break banks, not cities

I don't know how much monetary damage Godzilla does to a city block, but this statue could go a long way to repair one on its own. Jeweler Ginza Tanaka is celebrating 60 years of Godzilla on the silver screen with gold in the...

Bandai will bring 60th anniversary Godzilla to SDCC photo
Bandai will bring 60th anniversary Godzilla to SDCC
by Vanessa Cubillo

Godzilla has been having a great year. With his new movie, his popularity has risen once again. So for SDCC, Bandai was smart enough to have an exclusive of Godzilla.

In honor of the great kaiju’s 60th anniversary, there will be a limited edition vinyl figure. Measuring close to seven inches tall, Godzilla is designed with red markings all over his body to show the burning destruction he causes in a city. His back will also be ice blue to show his famous Atomic Breath.

Now, what’s really cool is that this figure will come with a diorama of Tokyo so you can show Godzilla terrorizing the city. Only 500 pieces will be available and will come individually numbered. This will be available at Bandai’s SDCC booth for US$60.
