ESC-Toy's new Scratch MK is a beautiful blue
by Brian Szabelski

ESC-Toy's newest weekly release is a little different, though it doesn't seem that way. After all, we've seen the Scratch MK figure before, and this time, it's in a metallic blue colorway. There's nothing too out of the ordinary at first glance: it's still 5.5 inches tall and comes with a unique hologram serial number.

What's so special about this colorway is that ESC is doing something different: offering a special retail price for 24 hours of US$35. You can pick it up in the ESC-Toy store right now.

ESC has a bunch of small-run pieces up for sale photo
ESC has a bunch of small-run pieces up for sale
by Brian Szabelski

Erick Scarecrow and ESC-Toy have been a bit quiet as of late, probably preparing for NYCC, but he's just put a whole bunch of one-offs and limited-run pieces in his shop:

  • Skratch Fury (US$300) and the Wet Suit Maria Sherbert (US$300) are both one of a kind custom pieces, while the last Monochrome Black Little Axe has already sold
  • If you want something a bit more metallic, there's the Copper Chelly Chainsaw (US$400), and only two have been made
  • The last Neo Tokyo 03 Drake in its interesting color palette is also available for US$500
  • A 9-piece run of the neon-colored Muraida Slush — my personal favorite design of the bunch — has arrived to smother you in a gooey wave of paint. It's 10 inches tall and comes with a special 8-inch-by-10-inch Giclee print by Yaji and Erick Scarecrow for US$125.
  • Finally, there's an 11-by-17 Giclee print available called Not My Colors, which is actually kind of adorable. Maybe it's the kid graffiti artist and the pig cop pointing at the graffiti like a parent scolding a child, but I like it. They're US$45 and only 25 have been made, each signed and numbered.

Any of these catch your eye?

ESC-Toy's SDCC exclusives revealed

ESC-Toy is coming to SDCC! Well, kind of: Erick will be bringing his wares to the Dragatomi booth (#5350) for the entire event, and there's some interesting pieces for sure that are in the mix.

So what's coming? Well:

  • The Mini Smoke Soopa Coin-Up Bros., limited to 10 pieces for US$20 each
  • Camspill Goofy, a 3-inch Goofy figure limited to 6 pieces for US$50 each
  • PS Bot Blue, the Playstation-inspired creation, limited to 6 pieces for US$300 each
  • MK Drake, an Uncharted Drake painted with Monster Kolor paints, limited to 9 pieces for US$125 each
  • A set of prints, featuring Ch*pper and L*st of Us (spelled that way by Erick for probably pretty obvious reasons); they're both limited to 5 Giclee prints each, at US$20 and US$75, respectively
  • S. Maria pins, US$5 each
  • Aliencuss, a new piece in GID and regular (red, white, blue) colorways that's based on the Xenomorph from the Alien franchise, limited to 6 pieces for US$75 each
  • The S. Maria Redomi colorway, a shiny metallic variant, limited to 12 pieces for US$200 each in the ESC-Toy shop on July 19 at 9 a.m. Pacific (noon Eastern, 4 p.m. GMT)
  • Erick's two signings at the Dragatomi booth: July 19 from 5-6 p.m., and July 20 from 1-2 p.m.

Anything that catches your eye?
