C2E2 2014: Enterbay

Enterbay is known for their realistic 1/6-scale poseable figures, competing with the likes of Hot Toys. At C2E2 they showed off a pair of 1/4-scale movie icons: RoboCop and the T-1000. They also brought a number of basketball icons to the event. Click on to see more info about their display.

Enterbay fully captures all the emotion of Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose isn't a man of much emotion or health for that matter. When he is healthy though, he is one of the best in the NBA that gives Chicago fans reason to hope (read: false) that they'll get past Lebron and actually wi...

Tomopop About Town: Hong Kong photo
Tomopop About Town: Hong Kong
by Chris Seto

When us Western folks think about figure scenes in the East, we tend to invariably end up thinking about two main places. The place where they all came from, Japan and probably the second-largest community in the area, Singapore and Malaysia.

Of course, Japan is a given, but with the additional landmass, it's not really a surprise to hear that some of the biggest figure and anime events in the region outside of Japan are usually held in Singapore, which provides Malaysian fans an easy to reach place to congregate (even if there are a ridiculous number or rules that need following). But what about the other countries? I guess it's asking much to try and take a peek at Indonesia and other countries since they don't have much of an international presence. China and South Korea have a large community but they are very insular and keep to themselves (have you tried navigating ruliweb, where many Korean modelers share their works??) But there are two regions where interest and influence is growing despite their small size and they are Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Taiwan is a place I have yet to visit but that could be subject to change eventually. Hong Kong, on the other hand, is a place which I have grown familiar with over time. So, ignoring the tourist stuff and other ways to entertain yourself in HK, what can you expect to see as a prospective figure buyer when in Hong Kong? Well, let's take a look!

Enterbay's Men in Black 3 figures fully revealed photo
Enterbay's Men in Black 3 figures fully revealed
by Brian Szabelski

Remember last week when we saw those Men in Black 3 teases from Enterbay? Well, we've got the full photos revealed now, and Agents J and K are looking amazing. The sculptwork on the facial details are as realistic as you might expect, and that alone is enough to sell me on these two. As for accessories beyond extra hands and the stands, J will come with the neuralyzer and Frank the Pug, while K will come with an assortment of weapons. Sneaky way to get us to buy both, Enterbay. Sneaky.

As far as I know, we should expect to see these two sometime either in June or July, and I'm excited about it. Even more so than the movie, yes. Your thoughts, Tomopop readers?

Enterbay teases their Men in Black III figures photo
Enterbay teases their Men in Black III figures

Enterbay's next licensed figure release will be for Men in Black III, and on Facebook, they recently posted a whole bunch of teasers of the sculpts they've been doing for Agent J, Agent K and Frank the Pug (who will probably be an accessory with J). The photos aren't the clearest as they're probably meant to be teasers ... but dang ... that looks like Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, does it not?

The agents are set to have more info revealed on them soon, with a tentative June or July release. I'm kind of excited to see how they turn out; what about you?

Enterbay's latest 1/6-scale release is Che Guevara photo
Enterbay's latest 1/6-scale release is Che Guevara
by Brian Szabelski

Enterbay's newest release in their 1/6-scale collectible figure line . I know some of our readers didn't like the last Che-related collectible we posted, but this one's looking pretty awesome. In addition to a face sculpted in his likeness and the RM5 body with 40 points of articulation, this Che comes with a lot. His accessories include two berets, an imitation leather jacket, a traditional military combat outfit with belt and combat boots, an M2 carbine, an M1911 pistol with holster, a watch and cigar, three pairs of posing hands, a classic camera and strap, and a figure stand.

The price for everything? US$170 plus shipping, and you can pre-order it now from both Enterbay's site and retailers who stock Enterbay's figures. Anyone thinking of picking this up?
