Takara Tomy previews new Madoka dolls and SD figures photo
Takara Tomy previews new Madoka dolls and SD figures
by Jeremy Emerje Crocker

There's no stopping Puella Magi Madoka Magica, it's here to stay. Even when it looks like things are starting to slow down something new comes along and we get all excited again. Not that you would ever actually want it to stop, the series is great and the merchandise has been too. A lot of dolls have been produced for the series from the likes of Azone and Medicom, but they lean pretty far into the expensive side. Now Takara Tomy has come to give Madoka Magica and doll fans something much more affordable.

Previewed at Tokyo Toy Show 2013 the new Liccalize line is an adult collectable version of the Licca-chan dolls the company makes for kids. Like other collectable dolls they're articulated and have cloth outfits, but unlike other doll lines they'll only retail for ¥6,800. Pre-orders start on July 1 with Madoka Kaname and Homura Akemi and will be out in November.

They're also starting up their Koedalize line of collectables for Madoka Magica based on their children's Koeda-chan line. The figures are somewhere between a regular super deformed figure and a block figure. Magical girl versions of all five characters will be made at ¥700 yen each for a December release.

A video from MAiDiGi featuring all of these can been seen after the jump or you can check the gallery for some stills. A second video featuring the Licca-chan version of Hatsune Miku can also be found which we've spoken about extensively in the past.
