Tomopop Review: Anohana Menma 1/8th Scale Figure photo
Tomopop Review: Anohana Menma 1/8th Scale Figure
by Jon Wills

Anohana was one of the most memorable shows last anime summer, but in anime time that was such a long time ago. Lots of good shows have come and gone since then, but few of them have had a theme like Anohana's. It's not much of a spoiler, but a large part of this is because of the fact that the main female character, Menma is in fact a ghost. This adds a certain uniqueness to her and allowed for some interesting and sentimental story telling.

Alter's rendition of her was the best that I had seen, so when pre-orders were announced for her I knew I had to have her. Hit the jump to find out why.

Miyazawa Model Exhibition: Ques Q and others

Take a peek into Menma's clubhouse with this new gallery

I love Anohana -- that show opened a water faucet out of my face. But back when I was watching it, I didn't think it'd be a very figure-friendly show, as it was neither action-oriented nor very parndering. I was glad to have ...

2012 Winter Hobby Maker Expo: Penguin Parade photo
2012 Winter Hobby Maker Expo: Penguin Parade
by Brian Szabelski

Penguin Parade's 2012 Winter Hobby Maker Expo booth was the place to be if you like to sit. Yes, there was a figure of Sonico, but the spotlight was on their Petanko series of figures! At Hobby Maker Expo, Penguin Parade brought pint-sized, sitting versions of AnoHana's Honma and Anjou, Haganai's Sena and Yozora, Dog Days' Millhiore, Nichijou's Nano, and Baka to Test's cross-dressing Hideyoshi.

Each of the figures should be coming out later this year, starting with Sena and Yozora in June. Check out the gallery and let us know if any of the Petankos catch your eye!

[Thanks to Tokyo Hunter for the photos!]
