Special delivery from Organic in the form of Shigofumi's Fumika

Now here is a figure I never thought I'd see. Ever. Centered around a "shinigami mailman," Shigofumi is sort of the anime equivalent of the kind of American show like Pushing Daisies--a really amazing piece of art that goes above and beyond the medium, and yet rarely gets the recognition it deserves. Those of you who discredit anime, or who might even write this show off because of the fairly generic art style, I can't begin to give it a high enough recommendation.

Fortunately, at least there's someone that's a fan out there, because Organic has suddenly decided to craft a figure of the series' title character, Fumika. It really looks like a gorgeous piece of work, too, evoking the sort of image Fumika creates as she descends from the sky. Unfortunately, there isn't much information on the figure yet. While it comes out in March 2009 and will cost around ¥7140 (approx. $76.25 USD), there's no telling what scale it will be set at. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a 1/6th rendition, or else that's a pretty pricey 1/8th design.
