Some more EVA-01 figures for those who can't have enough

How many more EVA-01 figures do you think should be made? If you answered "exactly four" then CCP has fulfilled your wish. The CCP Evangelion Project adds four EVA-01 figures to its lineup, no doubt hoping to cash in on the release of Evangelion 3.0.

I won't blame you for not seeing much difference between them. There's a basic EVA-01 with normal paint job, and another one with weathering effects to simulate its condition after a battle. Then there are fancier versions of those two figures with light-up eyes and a paint job that's reactive to a black light. It's a cool effect, simulating the night scenes in the movies where the Eva's green highlights glow.

All of them are set for a March 2013 release. They're 1/6 scale, meaning they're anywhere between 25 and 40 feet tall. Just kidding, they're really about 13" tall - apparently CCP thinks an Eva unit is about the size of a person. The non-fancy ones will cost ¥9,400 while the ones with lighting effects will be ¥14,096.

Is suspicious of kittens and robots. Vehemently dislikes angle quotes. Will never forgive the Cylons. Was the real-life inspiration for the movie . more   |   staff directory
