Show and Tell: The Blue Castle Crasher photo

Of all the figures I have, there are many that I love. However, there's only one that I am afraid to touch. So much so, in fact, that I almost decided not to show it off for this week's Show and Tell because I was afraid something would get ruined on it.

However, considering that it's Comic-Con, no figure in my collection may be more appropriate for Show and Tell than my Blue Castle Crasher from Castle Crashers. While I didn't exactly buy it at Comic Con or anything like that, it's definitely the kind of thing you might find there, plus with a little something extra.

Hit the jump to take a better look at this figure and see just why it's so special.

The Blue Castle Crasher spends his days trapped inside of a plastic case that came in the box with the figure. It actually provides a pretty nice platform to put the little guy on, though the plastic cover tends to scratch a little easy. But wait, what's that in the back?

Hold on, let me just make that a little clearer for you ...

That's better. As you can see, this is the reason why I am so scared of touching this figure at all: because it's signed by Dan Paladin, the man behind all the fantastic artwork that goes into The Behemoth's games. I am horribly terrified of ruining something so beautiful and awesome, so for he most part, I just let the Blue Castle Crasher sit there in his little case all day, not even dusting off the corner of the bookshelf he's in. At least if one positive thing can come out of this, I finally got that corner dusted off.

As for the figure itself, the Blue Castle Crasher sits upon a black plastic stand with slots in the back to hold extra weapons. The quality of the design and sculpt itself is top-notch, as it certainly looks like the Blue Castle Crasher from the game of the same name. And since I've loved Dan's art style from the days he was doing simple Flash games on Newgrounds, I don't even have to mention how cool this figure looks amid my PVC and gashapon army.

The weapons themselves also look like their in-game counterparts, with the ax and sword splattered in a bit of blood. The weapons -- the ax, mace, sword and fish -- are the same for all four Castle Crasher figures, which is maybe my only disappointment. I would have loved to see something a little different with each figure, if possible.

The shield does come off, revealing a second slot for weapons in his left hand, and the figure does have some limited poseability around the neck, shoulders and waist. Of course, you're not going to be able to pose this little guy like a Figma or Revoltech, but for the size of the figure, I'd say it has pretty high poseability.

If you're looking for your own Castle Crashers figures and you don't know by now where to find them (since they've been out for quite some time), they're US$20 each at The Behemoth Store. There's also a bundle of all four Crashers and one of the Barbarian available on their store as well. I still think they ought to make one of the King. Or at least the pooping deer.

Legacy Comments

Brave little dude stepping out of the clear box for the first time, what enemies await his appearance!? We will never know, because Brian quickly put him back in the clear plastic prison after the fast photo session. :P
I have all 4 :)
I wish they would make more besides the 4 main castle crashers and the barbarain. I'd kill for a Black Knight or The Necromancer.
Really awesome little guy. I have the my barbarian signed too!
Where can i get one?
