Oh/Ah My Goddess! is a show that doesn't have nearly enough merch. For a series that has been serialized for 20+ years, it doesn't have nearly enough PVC statues for my liking. However, thanks to the somewhat recent AMG! anime that aired a few years back, there has been a slight influx of figures as of late.
Cue Kotobukiya's Belldandy from Everyone Has Wings, the second season of the TV show. Follow me after the jump to see more of this moderately priced beauty!

During an early Tomocast, Topher talked about figures that he fit everywhere. For me, this is one of those figures, in no small part due to Bell's sculpt. Besides the feet (which I'll pick on later), this is an astounding statue that really catches the essence of the character. Belldandy's goddess outfit looks like it's perpetually catching a breeze, something that is pretty difficult to mold right on a statue.
The stance that she is held in is also quite nice and unlike anything else on the market. She is floating atop a piece of her outfit and it doesn't look cheesy in the slightest, unlike many other figures that are posed mid-float.

Here's more detail on her costume. Some of the paint looks a bit shoddy, but that can be forgiven considering this is a $40 PVC statue. Even for that price this is a good paint job and there are more details than some $80+ pieces I've seen. The earring seen off frame, the necklace, and the ring around her waste are separate pieces, so they look like actual accessories instead of cheap extensions of the statue's material.
Here's a closer shot of Bell's torso and face. I'd be remiss in not talking about the hair, which isn't as good as the rest of the figure. It looks serviceable, but it certainly not the her best feature. However, my favorite part of this figure is Bell's face. The sculptor made her personality pop out with the wonderful smile and those joyous eyes. You can almost feel the serenity that has made Belldandy one of the most popular character in anime and manga.
My only real beef with this statue are the vaguely formless feet. While everything else has been detailed and nuanced, the feet look like the sculptor got lazy and decided the feet were better as clumps of plastic. There are toes there, but they look wonky. Besides that though, it's beautiful and needs to be in your collection if you love AMG! Check out more pics in the gallery to see Bell in the wild.
