Show and Tell: Max Factory's Drossel Figma photo

It was too long of a journey before I finally got my hands on my very first Figma, especially after seeing so many fantastically designed pieces that I passed on. A few months ago I finally got that turned around when my Drossel Figma showed up at my place. For those who don't know of Drossel, she is the main character from the Japanese Disney CGI show, Fireball, which is a series of short clips that are only around 1 minute 45 seconds long a piece.

To say I was excited is definitely an understatement, so take a journey with me and check out what awesome accessories come with Drossel, and what happiness lies inside the box waiting to be explored. Hit the jump to check it out!

Drossel

Drossel's box features a nice window so you can wave at her cute little self from outside the box. You can clearly see there are several accessories just by looking at the box, which we'll get into later. Although the box is in Japanese, it does at least show you pictures of the accessories in use on the back of the box, so that if you can't get it figured out at least you've got a reference.

Drossel

I love the artwork that surrounds the box. Not only are there several images of Drossel herself, but the background decorations also match that of the head accessories that we'll talk about later.

Drossel

I'm quite amazed with no larger than the box is that they fit as many accessories as they did in there. Each little piece had its place, and it was only snug enough to keep them in place. I had no problems getting any of the parts out of its plastic prison, and in no time Drossel was free!

Drossel

As you can see I wasn't joking about the amount of accessories. You'll get instructions on how to put the pieces together, although its in Japanese, so I just looked at the pictures. You'll also get five total sets of exchangeable hands, a Figma stand, flying headgear, two fins to go on the side of the headgear, a blue and white karate headgear, and a book for her to hold. It even comes with a small plastic bag to keep all of your pieces in.

Drossel

I love it when boxes for figures come with a neat background to take pictures with. This one happens to be of the area where Drossel lives, at the Tempest Tower. She happens to have an insanely long title and name, so I'm glad it gets cut to Drossel as in full it's, '19th Lord of Uranos' Kingdom's Tempest Domain, Drossel Juno Vierzehntes Heizregister Fürstin von Flügel.'

Drossel

I adore small details in figures as well, which run free with this Figma. On the back of her pigtails, the right one says 'Firmengruppe Heizregister' and the other says 'Juno', both with parts being her name. Even the back of her head says 'Flügel'.

Drossel

My Drossel is the queen of break dancing, as she's always caught in the act bustin' a move. I swear... I've never had so much fun posing a figure in my life. If you've never had a figure that you've felt comfortable doing that, or even had the urge to pose around, then by all means pick up a Figma, because that's one of the best parts besides of course that it looks phenomenal.

Drossel

One of her accessories is her book "Anthropologie XIV: Gespäche Mit Der Menschheit". It's a bit of a challenge to get her to balance it, but it's much easier if she's on the Figma stand while doing so. She likes to fall on her head a bit if you're not using the stand to help hold her and the heavy book up.

Drossel

Next up in the accessory department is Drossel's fashionable headgear! In Episode 3 of the show she finds a new set of headgear that was placed next to her dresser, which she deems her fashionable headgear. Gedächtnis tries to tell her that it's flying headgear, but she doesn't believe him.

Drossel

When she clicks her heels three times the wings extend out of her fashionable headgear, but she fails to fly. Well, that is until she touches her shoulders and randomly takes off at the end of the episode, surely only to cause trouble.

Drossel

In Episode 11 you get to see Drossel practicing her karate, using her special karate hair. Assumably she has karate hair so her normal hair ponytails don't hit her, and everything else that could possibly be in her way, but with Drossel you never really know.

Drossel

All in all, if you've not yet seen the short series that is Fireball, I suggest you do that ASAP since it won't take but around 15 minutes. Another thing you should do, is try to hunt down one of these Figma for yourself.

Unfortunately it looks like Drossel has sold out in quite a few stores, so she might be tough to get a hold of for a reasonable price at this time. When I ordered mine it was only around $35, now I've seen it upwards for $50+ so just keep an eye out for a bargain price here and there. This is definitely one of my favorite purchases this year, so I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a great figure, fan of the series or not.

Awesome photo's, I'm glad to see this because I recently preordered as it's going to be restocked soon, she is an awesome looking figma, and I can't wait to have her as mine!
I just received my Drossel in the mail earlier this week, and I absolutely love the figure. I wanted one since the very first images surfaced but was put off by the higher than average price... so when I got wind of the deal Otacute had a few weeks ago I jumped at - and I'm so glad I did.

Canti is glad I did too:

;)
Wait a minute, that's the wrong picture! Ha! I meant to share this one. :P
wow what a wonderful review! I really like the small details that were added for her. Figma's aren't really known their perfect small touches. I guess when it comes to something as big as Drossel it can be done!
I got drossel for christmas, and since that moment i love her!!!
i got my drossel last night and did not have time to really unbox her as it was midnight cant back to go back home and do some photoshoot with my new friend Drossel=)
I have Drossel and she is always picking on my other figures. Hopefully when I get the winter editon through the post she will kick her back in line haha
